It activates ur bicep and tricep more.. I had to use 60lbs dumbel for chest cus it makee a crazy diffrence and my chest was the soresest everI have heard mixed reviews on these. But I know there are specialty bars that are thicker than average. I assume that the fatter bars produce the same effects that you are experiencing form the fatgrips.
I might give these a try. Since my gym doesn't have a specialty bar that is thicker than normal. It activates ur bicep and tricep more.. I had to use 60lbs dumbel for chest cus it makee a crazy diffrence and my chest was the soresest ever

Thing is for tricep you start with overhead or skullcrushers and do like 10 sets THEN do some controle slow reps on close grip with the gripz.. My arms are fryed to the point i had forearm crampsWe have one at my gym. The inside is the same thickness as where the plates go. I believe it weighs 80lbs. Presses would probably be okay with it, pulls I'd think it'd limit the weight to the point it wasn't worth doing.

That's a living hell rt there!!! I did that once and man it was tough!!!My old gym had a pair of these, almost looked like a dirt bike handlebar grip that was really fat, and had a slice down one side so you could slide it over even a fixed weight dumbell. I used them on and off when I went there, really loved them because you can actually feel them working and tell the difference.
Want a real challenge? Put those suckers on the bar where you do pull-ups.
Deadlifting with those fat bars is a bitch. Sets my forearms on fire. Definitely improves grip.Yeah, this thing I'm talking about is a full sized barbell. I prefer an EZ-curl bar for stuff like you're talking about, curls and skull crushers with a straight barbell kill my forearms. Not in a good way, like a shin splints way.
