That would be carl..his leonard influence is clear as they are both from Florida but he is without a doubt the funniest author I have read and every one of his books is a best seller.

Carl has been writing for the Miami Herald for a long time.

I recommend Double Whammy, Skin Tight, Stormy weather and Sick Puppy...in that order.

They are breezy reads and everyone I know thats read him..loves him.

Dave Barry is also cut from the same mold and gets his ispiration from Leonard.

DeMille is just a master story teller.

My favorite is Jim or jack Kjellguaard or however u spell it. Lmao, read all of his books as a kid. been trying to get my son to check his books out. Snow dog, a nose for trouble, fox hound, irish red etc. Also i liked a couple of john grisham books but if you have read one you have read them all. same shit different names

American Psycho, I love why it was written - Ellis was around the yuppie crowd at that time and within days hated himself for having the same narcissistic drives, and developed a book based on the idea that the material competiiveness could drive one so mad they would murder. Aside from that I ashamedly as a narcissist would love Patrick Bateman's apparent power. Like many bodybuilders I know I am obsessed with the character

Salem's Lot by Stephen King -great story about vampires


A great book I'm reading now: "If Chins could Kill - Confessions of a B Movie Actor" by Bruce Campbell - This book is hilarious, an excellent read for any horror or Bruce Campbell fan. Even if you're not a fan or just know who he is it's still excellent. Very entertaining.

A great book I'm reading now: "If Chins could Kill - Confessions of a B Movie Actor" by Bruce Campbell - This book is hilarious, an excellent read for any horror or Bruce Campbell fan. Even if you're not a fan or just know who he is it's still excellent. Very entertaining.

I like Maupassant. The guy was insane. Now I guess he's touted as France's best all time short story writer. Recurring theme is madness. "The Inn" has lots of the same underpinnings as The Shining, only about 100 years prior. "Le Horla" was also one of his best IMO.

I just finished a book called "are we not men" by brent spencer...it is a bunch of short stories, but dam it is good. I would recommend it.

by Clavell, Deaver,Fleming,Patterson,Sandford. Some of Crichton.

some of the opthers mentioned i like: Ken Follett, Nelson DeMille, Michael Grighton, John Sandford, James Patterson, Dean Koontz..i've read hundreds of books by these authors.

John Saul has to be one of my favorites. Thomas Harris is up there, too (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal. He writes one novel every ten years or so...and look at his track record.

One that no one knows...The Art of Breaking Glass...look for it.

I have read Lord of the Rings at least 15 times!
This is not an exaggeration!
I think it is a great story.
I'm also working on Les Miserables and War and Peace, just a little bathroom reading. LOL
