Feel like I am maybe eating to much

Thanks for all the responses, I switched things up a lot, I eat now a split of p35/c45/f20. I is working the best for me. Tried Keto and hated it and it caused me all sorts of stomach problems. I still do not understand how keto makes sense, I eat high fat so my body uses fat for fuel, well okay thats fine and all but isnt it using the fat I EAT for fuel? Is it suppose to somehow eat the body fat for fuel instead? Carbs are filling and make you have tons of energy to train hard and to grow, fats make me feel lethargic and like crap! To much protein also just gets converted to fuel and is a waste of money and not really good fuel either so thats where I came up with the numbers for my split. Figuring out how many calories per day I should be eating and correct protein amount and fit it all together.. now that was a whole process in of itself:D

How many grams of fat are you eating? Maybe lower that and favor carbs more. Perhaps a leaner cut of steak, add more egg whites in place of a couple of the eggs + toast.. My body treats caloric surplus very differently depending on the carb/fat ratio.
Cals remaining the same, if your body favors carbs over fats for better body composition you’re both a rare and lucky bastard.

I guess thats possible, i dont think my current intake is to high, competiton in 2.5 weeks, i currently eat 2300 cal a day P201, C259, F51 and calipers say i am 7%bf although the attached photo online apparently tells me im 12%:rolleyes:a day, any pointers before the big day I should take from you Big Man;), maybe in the sodium department and carb department?

As far as peaking for a show? Have you done this yourself before or do you have a coach? If you have a coach follow the plan.

If you don’t, most guys fuck their stage look up by thinking they NEED to manipulate things like sodium, carbs and water. More places have been lost than won that way.

This is a delicate process, and probably not a good time for me to be stepping in with advice. Just dig deep these last two weeks.

Without WAY more info, any recommendations beyond “keep it simple” would be blind and ill advised.

Why do you say that? Not being contentious, but I do notice some major changes relative to the short time I’ve been approaching things from that angle.

It’s nothing against you or the approach, most people just have a bigger issue with carbs and body comp. so that’s the rare part. The lucky part is your body favoring carbs because carbs are fun. absolutely do what works for you.

I figure there’s a genetic component to my response for sure. Maybe instrumental is the fact that I have a very active job - and I can work up to 18-19 hours in a day on occasion. I’ll regularly work 11-12. It involves a lot of lifting >50 lbs and walking, and energy levels are really critical to job performance. I noticed I do much better with a very high carb diet, and that may be why. But I do notice that in severely cutting back my fat intake, if there is any effect at all it has been positive. I use my iliac crest definition as a gauge, and I’ve been eating 7-8 bowls of Oreo cereal and Cookie Crisp a day on top of my other meals without any appreciable blurring of that line outside of the initial water bloat from the first day.
