My fellow bro's, Gas in my town is 1.95 gal. It's gonna get alot worse come summer. If you refuse to buy gas from the 2 biggest oil companies in the U.S. we can have an impact. Tell everyone you know, send emails, post all over the net, just get the word out not to purchase gas from Exxon or Mobil. If enough people( it'll take millions but it can be done) boycott these 2 giants, prices will have to come down. Please think about it and fight back. Thanks.

It won't matter as long we're under the current republican administration.

does it really matter who you purchase from? there are only a handfull of oil producing companies that provide gas to the u.s. it doesnt matter where you buy its all coming from the same place.

It wont matter regardless of what administration were under.

Fuel is the least of your worries......checked out copper and steel prices lately? Expect construction costs to either skyrocket 50-70% or expect construction to come to a halt....which will kill the economy.

Thank the Chinese for the present dilemna......there is a shortage of steel in the US right now because the majority of companies are filling order with the chinese presently. Copper is in a similar spin having nearly doubled in the past 2 months....and there is no global shortage of copper right now.

Thank Clinton....a fucking DEMOCRAT....for putting us in this mess. You had best hope that US businesses make a ton of money out of china because of globalization or our economy will slide onto its ass very quickly.

Hogg, do you watch the commodities for investing purposes or purely for your job?

Purely as a result of my occupation. Commodities are purely speculative issues, not investment-grade in my opinion.

The price of steel and copper has caused much havoc in my sector these past few weeks. We cannot secure pricing commitments longer than one day at a time.....that is rough on a business with a project lifecycle of 1 month to two years.

That has to throw a major wrench into projects, especially now that building season is upon us.

At my job, price of closed-head steel 55gal drums went up 21% and our vendor said to expect it to continue to rise. We also have a pre-fab steel bldg going up in 1 month. Prices have yet to be secured as our dumbass procurement office has no f'n clue what they are doing. We'll probably lose this bldg again due to damn budget cut AGAIN! Sorry for the li'l rant, but I feel better now. On a side note, I just got a promotion and I'm on vacation this upcoming week. :D

"It won't matter as long we're under the current republican administration."

If we are lucky Kerry will be elected and he will copy the oil policy of the Carter admin. We all know what a successful oil policy the Carter administration had (i.e. price controls, economics 101 clearly teaches that price controls don't work). Seriously I have not yet heard what Kerry's oil policy will be. Phreezer, since you know that it will work better than Bush's policy maybe you can tell me what it is? (I am not sure what you meant by saying, "It won't matter as long we're under the current republican administration", but since it is election season I assume that you think that the current admin is not the best choice).

I bet that anyone that has a more liberal voting record than Kennedy in the senate doesn't know anything about economics.

From the candidates who have a realistic chance, I vote republican. From a political philosophy perspective I am more of a libertarian. I have been strongly influenced by Hayek, Mises, Friedman, Murray, Rothbard, Sowel, and Johnson etc. In short the less government the better. Hogg from what I have read of your posts I have not found much that I disagree with.

Wait...Ted Kennedy is running for President?? ;)

I guess that I had better give up my sarcastic style; it seems to cause a lot of confusion.

Hogg, I won't vote for that socialist pinko from Massachusetts.

Bob, I don't really think that people should chop up babies.

Chris, thanks for clarifying my confusing sarcastic style (I guess that this is the second time).
