Films ...

I agree! I've seen it once so far but I definitely need to see it more. It really makes you think
*joker spoiler*
I was thinking about the Joker's MO. Why he kills people. I think it has to do with opposition and control. What did you find most interesting? There is a lot going on, his interaction with his work colleagues, the Waynes, the neighbor, his mom, his work itself, DeNiro man the list goes on!

It's not really a spoiler but..

I agree, he feels the need for that kind of control because of the lack of control in his own life, and nothing is a greater display of control and power than taking a life.

For me I really thought the whole dynamic of his chronic hallucinations to be the most interesting, especially when it came to his "girlfriend". Dude that scene at the end when he walked into her apartment and she was like "who the hell are you" blew my mind. His life is quite literally one big joke

Yeah I agree. I know we didn't see him kill the "girlfriend" but if I recall correctly I think sirens were playing. That has been bothering me, sometimes they will do that in movies. Won't show directly but very subtle.

No Country for Old Men
Rock N Rolla
Fight Club
The Prestige
The Illusionist
There Will Be Blood
The Dark Knight movies
Snatch
Memento

So you’re a Christopher Nolan fan? Gotta be one of the best filmmakers / directors in the business.

Gonna try not to repeat any previously posted suggestions. If you want out there / different / strange:

Cube

Otherwise, some well-known and not-so-well-known suggestions:

The Lighthouse

Old School

Baby Driver

Strange Brew (previously mentioned, great underrated comedy with Rick Moranis)

Inception

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Snatch

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Avengers: Endgame (hey, someone had to say it)

Creed

Plants of the Apes remakes

Overlord

White Boy Rick

Blow

The Equalizer

Man on Fire

Sicario

Ocean’s 11 (remake)

I Feel Pretty (not an Amy Schumer fan, but this movie was decently funny)

Bright

Street Kings

Training Day

Should be enough for now to pick out some you’d be interested in.

It's crazy how many people haven't seen or even heard of these two. Very underappreciated movies.

Of the top of my head some other great, lesser known movies from around that same time period:

Bringing Out the Dead
Lucky Number Slevin
The Way of the Gun
The Machinist
Ravenous
Good call with the machinist. Christian Bale is a crazy motherfucker.

Yeah, huge Christopher Nolan fan! I agree with a lot of the movies you posted, so funny that you mentioned Cube that is a really good one.

I have another list I will start compiling too, it is more modern movies that are pretty good and not just the classics.

Would be nice to see a list of foreign films too.

If you guys haven’t seen Cube, check it out. Pretty interesting, super-low budget, but a good movie.

I love Blade and especially Blade II, The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded (not Revolutions [emoji1361]), the John Wick movies, have enjoyed most of the MCU films, love Nolan’s work, Step Brothers, Terminator and Terminator: Judgment Day (remember seeing that in the theater as a kid and was blown away by the special effects at the time, sane with the original Jurassic Park), Batman 89 (again, saw it in the theater as a kid and instantly made me a Burton fan), Mr. Mom, Forest Gump, The Sixth Sense, etc, but I’d imagine most have seen all or most of those movies.

If anyone is looking for a couple good shows to watch, I recommend:

The Leftovers (HBO)

Fleabag (BBC / Amazon)

The Bodyguard (Netflix)

Killing Eve (BBC)

The Boys (Amazon)

Black Sails is an ok watch (Starz, didn’t finish the last season though, kinda lost interest)

Game of Thrones (although a disappointing final season/finish, still my favorite show ever probably)

Testees (if you can find it, only ran for a few months in 2008)

Episodes (Starz)

Party Down (HBO)

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO)

I’ve watched too much TV and too many movies in my day I’m realizing.

tom hardy series Taboo was awesome in my opinion. I don't watch many series at all. That is the only one in the past 4-5 years. Well actually I was stuck in the hospital, haha that's the only reason I saw it. Maybe that was a fond memory or something.

@Sworder you do realize it's just a movie right? No need to diagnose a made up character in a movie.

If you liked The Machinist check this one out. Just watched it on Netflix a couple weeks ago and it reminded me a lot of it.

Saw this on Friday night... I didn't like it at all. As soon as he was driving to the hospital I pretty much called the ending. It was trippy...

I watched it too. Also not a big fan.

I guess it was well written? It was just not my preferred ending... As soon as he was heading to the elevator at the end I knew something was not right.

It was similar to a movie with Jodi Foster called Flight Plan. That was a pretty good one with a better storyline.

I'm usually quick to figure a movie out, but I didn't figure this one out until later.
