Filter Your TRT Ampules

I know this seems basic (and I’m sorry if it’s been covered elsewhere). I’ve been diving deep on here on filtering gear (thank you for @Ghoul for both terrifying me and inspiring me to level up my harm reduction game).

I was first doing research to properly add HGH into my HRT (no cycles here for now) and have been having a little extra pain at my TRT injection sites. Come to learn you need to filter TRT coming out of glass ampules for micro glass shards.

I’ve been on TRT for nearly 2 years, worked with 3 clinics (now buy Bayer Primoteston OTC in Mexico) and none of them mentioned this. So maybe I’ll get a bunch flack for how basic this is but I got a box of BD Blunt Fill needles with a 5 Micron filter in them to start filtering (common practice in hospitals/medical clinic for testosterone). I wish I had of known it sooner (and hoping no permanent damage was done) but if you didn’t know I hope this helps!

If you are working with clinics I assume they are prescribing you real pharma test. Personally I wouldn't filter that.

If you are working with clinics I assume they are prescribing you real pharma test. Personally I wouldn't filter that.

Each time you break amps, you should filter for broken glass.

Is a filter needle needed to draw from the ampoules? If so, any recommended source in the US?

You should filter for glass.

Eight hundred 10-ml sterile water ampoules were inspected for glass particulate contamination upon opening. Glass particulates were detected in 65% of the ampoules (519/798).

You can't pin with a filter needle just fyi. Much cheaper to break all your amps and use a syringe filter into a new vial.

I've always wanted to try that Primoteston but even from Costco its like $40 an amp.

Filtering after breaking an amp is always good practice.

I’ve liked it a lot! Had 200mg/ml compounded from clinics in MCT and the injection is definitely faster/smoother but for $16/ 250mg ampule I’ll take the transferring process/slower injection any day or the week!

I tried to use a blunt filter needle for Mexican Nebido ampoules, it was really slow and I was getting air bubbles at the syringe/filter needle from the vacuum needed to draw up the thick castor oil formulation.
I eventually just switched to a sharp unfiltered needle. Went through 12 ml with no PIP.

Ask pharmacies...
It's available easily in US without an Rx..there's no use for it except for filtering glass.

I asked the pharmacy and the hospital supply here in Mexico. Said they don’t do that here just inject and hope for the best.

The only pharma grade available come in glass ampules (also only $16/ampule so a decent price) though so eventually it’ll happen if I don’t filter. Would a sterile Pvdf filter work ok? Maybe bump it to.45um? I think I can get those here. Any thoughts @Ghoul ?

Get .22 sterile PTFE. In a pinch you can use Nylon or PVDF since there's no BB. You can order from AliExpress Ks-Tek.

You can break all the amps and filter them into a new sterile vial at a go, to save money on the filters.

You pop'd the amp..it's no longer sterile.
I'd use a .22 if you're storing in a new vial, else .45 is fine. But why, its the same cost..anyways..

I had no problem in the US, I believe it shipped domestic here, I guess you're elsewhere.

Well the first time I did it I didn't even put any BA into it. You do know that ampoules don't have BA in them, because they are not for multi-use, and they can get contaminated.
I did a bunch of shots from an ampoule transferred to a sterile vial, which had zero benzyl alcohol in it. Oops. As soon as somebody mentioned it to me I squirted in about 1 or 2% BA.

Oh wait..if using nebido, only option is PTFE.
Nothing else..the filters will melt, it's 50% solvents.
