I have a smaller caulking gun.I prefer 60ml syringes. I fill the syringe up until 50ml. Can filter 18 mast E vials in less than 30 minutes by Dual Weilding Caulking guns
I noticed these syringe filters are listed as "For venting and air filtration". Is this the appropriate filter for oils? It looks like these are similar to the other PTFE filters that cobetter sells except these are .2um instead of .22um and sterile. For oils?
Syringe Vent Filters Hydrophobic PTFE Autoclavable
Autoclavable hydrophobic PTFE syringe filters. Pore size: 0.2 μm. Diameter of 13mm/25mm/33mm with Luer lock. For venting and air filtration.shop.cobetter.com
There are marginally better filters but at astronomical prices.
For Petides:
Sterile 0.2 μm PES Syringe Filters
Hydrophilic PES syringe filters with single or double-layer membrane. Pore sizes of 0.2μm. Diameter of 13mm/25mm/33mm with Luer lock. Sterile individually packed. Used for sterile filtration of protein solutions, cell culture media, and buffers.shop.cobetter.com
The best in this category use the "Supor" PES membrane, like Pall Filters, or B Braun. They're much much more expensive ($4-5 each). I buy them at huge discounts from science gear surplus sellers (I live near a "research triangle"). Pall is the standard for compounding pharmacies. But Cobetter is 95% as good, and superior (less protein adhesion, faster flow) to many name brands, never mind generics.
I used to use whatman PVDF, is PTFE better? Any suggestions for brands?I have a smaller caulking gun.
Dual wielding? What is this brewing far west cowboy shit?
That's my cousin Trestonito ese...Carry it around with my holster and I have vials of tren on my ammo vest.

Home brewer guide from a place that I think instructs compounding pharmacies. Its only 4 pages long, easy read. 160c for 2 hours (page 3) and then quarantine it until you get your results back for sterility and endotoxin. (per the pdf, not per me).

I know nothing about the filters but just wanted to make sure before I place an order myself! I need some good syringe filters.
Skills and confidence are two different things. Most people that are proficient in their fields have been there long enough to see all of the things that can go unexpectedly wrong and it makes them more cautious. Have you see how many people here can’t read a syringe or make simple dilutions? That means nothing. There are people in the counter espionage business that they can't keep an eye on their teenage daughter.
Being cautious is always good, but lacking confidence and proclaiming to be skillful in a field simultaneously is ridiculousMost people that are proficient in their fields have been there long enough to see all of the things that can go unexpectedly wrong and it makes them more cautious.
Maybe. But I will also never regret not possessing the confidence of a mediocre man.Being cautious is always good, but lacking confidence and proclaiming to be skillful in a field simultaneously is ridiculous
It's like Dunning-Kruger in full force.Maybe. But I will also never regret not possessing the confidence of a mediocre man.

I wonder how often someone with a biochemistry degree actually uses a beaker, graduated cylinders, and raws...Maybe. But I will also never regret not possessing the confidence of a mediocre man.
This is definitely a factor. I am not in the lab anymore. As much as I loved it I moved the the regulatory and clinical evaluation dark side cause $$$. Now when I am in the lab performing audits the things these 'kids' do make me realize how quickly lab sciences advance. Again leading to what I hope is a more accurate self-assessment.I wonder how often someone with a biochemistry degree actually uses a beaker, graduated cylinders, and raws...
It's not possessing confidence of a mediocre man but confidence in your field over people who are not specialized in it.
I will always be confident in my skill set. In this particular hobby, two plus decades of successful endeavors can atest to that.Maybe. But I will also never regret not possessing the confidence of a mediocre man.

Happy for you as well. But that doesn't change the original point that was made. I believe you are an exception to the rule. I don't believe the average person has those capabilities. I may have them but don't have the risk tolerance.I will always be confident in my skill set. In this particular hobby, two plus decades of successful endeavors can atest to that.
And I will always be thankful to the great individuals that tested the waters before me and passed their knowledge they gained down. People like Basskiller (rip) Animal etc.
Thank God their confidence pushed through mediocrity and extreme precautions
