first cycle for a young athlete with extreme goals

hey meso members! I apologize in advance for the long post, but for anyone that takes the time to read it and offer helpful feedback I greatly appreciate it, I'm here to learn as much as I can. I'm new, I had a small thread going in the new members sub-forum and was advised to post here for more feedback and advice. I'm 21 y/o (I know what you're all going to say but please hear me out before you skip right to the comment box), and I play college rugby.

I'm 6'2, 235 lbs, bf in the mid-high teens (i'm just guessing here, somewhat visible abs in decent lighting but 'm not ripped by any means). Some of my current gym maxes are: 195 strict press, 295 paused bench, 395 ATG olympic-style squat, and 500 deadlift.

my long term goal is to play rugby at the pro level, and I'm willing to do literally whatever it takes to make my dream come true.

I realize that, being only 21, ideally it would be best for me to wait a few years before beginning aas use like most do/should, but just being blunt here, most people aren't aiming to achieve the extreme levels of performance that I am.. And I clearly don't know everything, so maybe it is best for me to wait a little longer before starting. I don't know for sure if now is the right time for me, which is why I'm here asking for help/advice/feedback. I'll be turning 22 in 4 months by the way.

I definitely want to get a little stronger before I even order my first compounds, so it's not like I'm ready to do anything right this minute, but I do want to start planning for when that time comes, and I'd love to hear what you all have to say. I'm sure no one's going to sugar coat anything for me on here haha.

For any of you rugby brahs reading, I start at #5, but might have to play #3 this fall due to my starting tighthead prop being injured; and we don't exactly have an abundance of starting-caliber front row players available. I'm going into my senior season, but I'm going to be a 5th year senior next year too due to academics, so I still have 2 fall seasons left at school.

I'm 21 aswell.. using aas is your desicion, you're a big boy and you can make your own choices... just remember you've gotta live with them..
check out my cycle log, I've broke every rule in the book, but I'm aware of the risks associated..
do your homework and goodluck bro!

thanks dude I'll definitely check out your log. I know it's my decision and in the end I'm gonna be the one to make it, but at the same time i do value the wisdom and opinions of older folks who have been doing this stuff for a long time and know more than I do.

plenty of knowledgable guys on this board. ask questions, do research!

Let me get this out of the way. Your to young for AAS.

Now then, I can't remember when I started. I think I was 23 or 24 not sure. You have me on size though. I was 202 6'1"

If you really feel you have a shot at living your dream of going pro then I wish you all the luck in the world.

On a more serious note. Get to reading buddy. Know what to do to be safe. Figure out pct. Take all the advice you can get and plan in advance. When and if you go down this road post your plan. Do not run and hide from us because your afraid what we will say. Keep us posted every step of the way so we can help you if something comes up.

Just for the record I am not condoning this just trying to be there to help when you need it.

I will be staying tuned little brother.

Play hard or go home [emoji2]

Rugby? In US? Bro move to Australia, way better chance of becoming pro.

I would suggest you make sure that diet is in check, the few rugby players I know that are pro eat a fucking lot. I'm talking dirty bulking 6-7 meals a day. They also only run compounds during the off season because they believe they can't be detected after a few months. Which I know isn't true but they rarely get caught. Also many are just genetically big.
Really try fill your day up with eating and see how much weight and strength you gain on 6000-7000cals before you try AAS.

Yes ink knows the possible consequences to the choices he's made.. But DONT DO WHAT HE DID!! Fuck, don't even read the log!!

Love ya, ink.. :)

I gotta say OP, I really respect your approach here, you are seemingly a very committed athlete, and your strength is extremely impressive. Based on your stats you sound like you are at the upper limit of the fat free mass index for drug free guys, so you clearly have your training down pat.

Since you plan on getting some more strength gains, I assume that will take you at least 2-3 months to get where you want to be. I would highly suggest you read this forum on the daily or at least somewhat regularly for the next couple months, you will absorb plenty of good knowledge that will greatly help you. Spending time here will give you a good grasp of AAS, so you will know what to do when you are satisfied with your strength and want to perform at a higher level.

Stick around and spend a good amount of time reading, keep working on achieving your current strength goals that you set out, and hopefully then you will have a better idea if its the right thing to do or not.

ok brb moving to australia..

lol i kid i kid. thanks for the advice bro, and trust me, i eat plenty. i'm more than familiar with how to gain weight haha

you are not tested for AAS use?
no sir i am not. i even tried searching through the usa rugby website to find even a smidge of info on drug testing and i couldn't find shit. so i pretty much can blast whatever i want whenever i want and as much of it as i want and not have to worry... for now anyway lol

thank you man the kind words mean a lot to me :)

i spend a lot of time researching and learning about proper training and i do take a lot of pride in programming my training properly to get me closer to my goals. i've only been lifting for 3 years though there's definitely plenty more to learn! i'm pretty confident that i can still gain a decent amount of more muscle and especially strength without drugs so we'll see.

I figured you knew a decent amount about training programming since your stats are very very good for a natural guy. I always believed that with really good training drug free guys can get fairly close to their genetic limit for strength and size in around 2 years or so. There are still plenty of gains in both strength and size you can make after that, but I'm sure you know how much those strength/size gains taper off after a while. Keep pushing your physique and strength though, I'm sure you will be very impressed with how much you achieved as a drug free athlete, you seem to be doing better then most guys so keep at it.

Tren in the off season for strength and high dose eq with low dose deca during the season for endurance and joints. Along with test during both orals are fine but no winny.

Main thing is research research research. I started at your age our close to it, but by the time I ran my first cycle, I had been in the boards researching for three years.

I would avoid running deca until you know for sure if your going to be tested, it stays in your system quite a while..

I would research Deca, EQ, and NPP for starters.
will do, thanks bro

idk about tren for rugby man. i feel like that should be saved for PLers and BBers, and i like to stay fit year round and obviously my conditioning would go to shit on tren. i guess i can consider it if it could help long term though.

yeah i'll definitely be using eq sooner rather than later, as it's one of the few compounds i know about that will help with endurance/RBC count (please correct me if i'm wrong about any of this). i haven't done much research on deca yet, i'll have to get on that.

as for orals, i honestly have no intention of using any orals any time soon. i want to keep myself as healthy as i can and obviously my liver wouldn't be too happy if i take orals... also idk if you know much about rugby but not drinking after a game is essentially a crime (dead serious) so that's another reason i'm not thinking about orals.

btw i'll never use winny.

i'm sure i'll be considering halo at some point eventually though, for obvious reasons.

i know for sure i won't be tested any time soon, not at least while i'm playing for my school anyway.

i'm going into my fourth season here and the topic of steroids or steroid testing has never even come up for anyone lol.

it's nothing i need to worry about, thank you for the advice though!

obviously nothing is set in stone yet as i don't even know for sure when i'm going to start yet, but i'll most likely end up running only test e for my first cycle, and adding in eq for the second cycle, whenever that would be. not gonna have to worry about that one for a while though
