Totally off topic but are you a utility lineman or contractor? Im an apprentice looking for work.
ozzy I'm a journeyman lineman for braun electric in cali, but going to 66 to do an apprenticeship since I've never done one (13 years in the trade), Houston Texas cant get enough people apply on line at http://www.swlcat.org/apprequest.html it takes about 4 months to get on if you have time in the trade you'll get 1000 hours towards the 7000hr program it takes about 2 years to top out there lots of work going on there now

Thanks brother. I applied for MSLCAT and was thinking of SWLCAT too. 2 years would be nice to top out. Im going through the physical assesment at SoCal Edison and LADWP right now and going to apply for CalNev JATC when it open in Sept, but its super competitive right now with all the guys coming out of NLC. I have a little under 3000 hours right now but would start over as a first step again if I have too. Its cool having someone in the trade on the board. Not alot of people understand what being a lineman is and the grit it takes. Much respect.

brother I would stay away from calnev unless you have a way in (related to someone) I have a friend that's an instructor there and he couldn't even get me in with 13 years in the trade after I interviewed I ranked 300, went to interview in texas they called me 2 days later and offered me the job just waiting to go back to court to get an out of state order to take the kids, Edison would be cool but its a 4+ year program with what I know the longer you're an apprentice the more chances you have to fuck it up and get kicked out, after you top out you can go where ever you want with an a ticket, good luck if you have any questions hit me up

Thanks man I appreciate the solid advice. I fucked up my apprenticeship at San Diego Gas & Electric. It was a 4 yr program too and I pissed off the wrong people. Im trying to talk my wife into moving out of state right now. I just need that ticket and Im good. Thanks man, Ill send you a PM if I have questions. Good luck on the home brewing, someone will eventually help you out.

Houston Texas area is where its at oz its still booming too. let me know if ya ever make it down this way ; )

Right on PI Ill hit you up for sure if I do go that way, you can teach me to cope with that Texas heat. Just need to convince the wife some way some how. Its funny because Lightspan is about to move where Im at in San Diego. We were gunna be gear buddies :(

hey pump ill be in Houston towards the end of sept, oz explain to the wife you can go do 2 years in texas and come back and work for sdge making top wages, my wife knows what I was making and saw what my cousin is making working for socal Edison and it was a no brainer at that point

cali, i've only used millipores but they worked for me. i still ended up using the plastic receiever and it went fine. i didn't go past 10 psi though. 10-13 psi is the safety zone, don't go past that if you're using a plastic receiver

next on my filter list are the whatmans. ive used the whatman syringe filters before and al syringe filters are terrible, but those were the best. i'll probably try a whatman filter top and buy a glass receiver on MLS

I dont have an accurate burner. The test did melt at 95 degrees outside.

I want to mass spec. They do it where i work and i want to ask. Just not sure how.
