Food Production/Harvesting...

Decided to hit the mountains Calloway Peak again, but this time from a different avenue of approach.
Boone Fork Area. Took Tanawha Trail South connected with the Daniel Boone Scout Trail... ran it this time. Killer workout.
... thought I saw @TANGO.ECHO.KILO but nope, false alarm.

Outdoorsman by heart. The mountains are my refuge, when all other options are lost.
There is a 150 year old quartz mine outta bounds where you can find a 40ft tall exposed solid quartz face. In the pockets of the face there are perfect clear quartz point clusters and trace amounts of gold

Moving to the big city would change me they said...
Youll be just another yuppie city slicker they said...
Took the boys fishin. The best spots require the best tools to get you there. Its not just fishing its an adventure!

The focus of this thread will be food production including but not limited to the areas of:

Farming/agriculture, livestock, harvesting wild game, wildlife management, hunting, fishing, trapping, and harvesting of wild mushrooms, ginseng, and other herbs. I also welcome the discussion regrading home-brewing/distilling alcohol, kombucha, or whatever else yall are drinking.
Basically if you grow it, find, harvest it, or distill it bring it on...

I've placed this thread in the general discussion forum as to be all-encompassing of the entire process involved from seed selection, soil preparation, and cultivation techniques. Poultry, cattle, goats, dairy and egg production. All the way to working dog training, breeding, selection, game cams, tying flies, primitive traps, flint knappin, blacksmithing.

Recipes are always welcome. Chow chow, pepper relish, bbq sauce, liquor, pickling and canning techniques will be more of my background. I've got an interest in poultry lately so I'm hoping some one comes along that can help me with background in game hens, guineys, chickens, turkeys, etc.

sow it, grow it, stalk it, trap it, spin it, jig it, pop it, drip it...
Show us what you got.

Very nice thread brother
