Whenever I am filtering my finished product into the sterile vial (I use an 18ga needle and a .45 filter), I usually get little pieces of rubber in the oil, presumably because the 18ga pins are so big. The pieces always sit at the bottom of the vial so I just toss the 1-2 ml that are left when it gets to the bottom, but is there a way to avoid this?? I suppose I oculd use something like a 22 ga to filter it in, but that would take FOREVER as I never make less than 50ml at a time. Would it be wise to invest in some crimpers so that I didn't have to do it like that?

It could be the vials you are using. Some rubber stoppers always fall apart and others do not. You might try using a 20g to filter. I'd also suggest using a .22 filter instead of a .45.

you should only punch the pin through the septum 1 time, and once for the vent pin...filter all your oil then seperate the syringe from the filter/needle and redraw more oil to be filtered....i never stick a vial more than once, also remember everytime you push a pin in there , its an opportunity to introduce contaminants

Well, the vials are from getpinz, so apparently something is going wrong as no other vials I have used have done this. Happened with the last batch I made, too. Bigkarch, I actually use 20ml syringes to filter it in. Have any of you ever used crimpers and just done it yourself?

Seems getpinz has been screwing alot of bros here lately. Alot of bros are goin to one of our sponsors, Androusa Inc., for supplies. Haven't seen any negative posts about them yet.

I have heard that the vials from getpinz in the kits are not good, the rubber easily breaks off. However, I have not heard of them screwing anyone over.

Yep, unfortunately I have some stuff coming from getpinz but I think this will be my last time using them. Their vials suck ass. That's the only thing it could be, as I have always used 18ga pins to draw from other types of vials (like QV) and it has always been fine. Can someone who knows about using crimpers, etc. tell me your experience doing it like that? Seems like it would be much better that way. Thanks.

Last time I looked crimpers were expensive I think it was like 200.00 if I remember correctly.

Yeah, $175 but if it is something that will benefit me in the long run it might be worth it. Plus there is a buy on here who can get them cheap.
