"free healthcare"

For me it's simple. If this country doesn't want to figure out a way to bring down astronomical costs of healthcare, then there should be a very easy process by which all citizens can write off medical costs. There should be no legal means by which a care provider can confiscate your wealth.

It can't be just one way, where the providers have the right to ruin lives. Either they provide total transparency up front or you have the option to back out of payment once they perform services, because they took that risk of not informing the patient.

Lets say I mow your lawn without telling how much it cost, I hand you a bill for $10,000. You have the right to tell me to fuck off, imo.
Another problem is, you will get fined for not having healthcare so no matter what you HAVE to pay. It’s like if you gave me an outrageous bill for mowing my lawn so I tell you to fuck off and decide to just let it grow, but then the city sends me a bill and it’s a fine for not having cut grass.

Unfortunately there are armies of lawyers that are employed by the healthcare industry to defend their tactics.

I'm not for a mandate, you either want health insurance or you don't, I can't force you to pay for something you don't want, that would be crazy and lets be honest most of us guys are pissing away a lot of money each year on health insurance.

In my almost 50 years, since I've been an adult I had a cyst removed off my back, tested for mono that knocked me on my ass, medication for an std(two times), and a mandatory physical for work. That's it for the healthcare I've received.

Now is that worth $6000 a year.....FUCK NO!
