If you can't front rack, you're already dysfunctional.
Instead of blaming the movement, fix the problem and get on with it. It's never going to be completely comfortable.
Chalk your front delts, it'll help with slippage. Keep the weight light until you've mastered the movement pattern, as noted above, and work on being more mobile through the shoulders and thoracic spine.
All the muscle and strength in the world is worthless if you can't move to use it.
