Finally got a brand I could drink straight w/out gagging, lol...Carlson's lemon flavored from Norway. Anyways I was having this discussion with another guy at the gym and he was telling me while it's strong in EPA and DHA..it will cause your cholesterol to SKYROCKET compared to Flax Oil. Any truth to this...what are your thoughts. Thanks my man

It will raise your GOOD cholesterol - this is what you want. My good chol was in the low teens overall was 180. Ate several lbs of salmon a week and cod liver oil and good cholesterol went over 50 total chol was 178. Not sure if it was the salmon or cod liver oil but they are both fish oils. Also was off and stopped anti e's but my good had not been that high in a looong time even when off.

Yep, your good cholesterol will go up. Kudo's for going with a fish oil (especially Carlson's) most people don't realize what a key element it is in a supp regime.

Thanks to Frosty, I began taking Cod Liver Oil this week. I got Twinlab's "Norwegian Cod Liver Oil", mint flavored. Not bad!

I'll tell you what...the cat LOVES it, lol. I open up the fridge and she darts over to it and starts licking the bottle..over and over everyday.
Only bad side I get from it is that I get like a little acid reflux/burp everyday and that taste is in my throat..f'in nasty trying to drink coffee in the morning, lol.

Here's a link where I get it-http://www.sndnutrition.com. It's by far the cheapest place I've found. I use a table spoon a day and so does the old lady. Carlson has two fish oils that taste good and are lemon flavored. The cod liver oil and the omega-3 oil. I use the omega three oil (there both from norway) because it has no vitamins A&D, and is a higher concentration of omega 3's per serving.
