Fuel injuction carburetors

So I got the system all wired up, fuel send and return lines, pump and filters all installed. I went through the startup procedure on the EFI handheld gui. Got to the start the engine up part and nothing. It cranks, I can hear the pump turn on but the auto doesn't start. I am noticing the RPM readout says "stall", which is normal when the ignition is on. The reading is supposed to change when the engine cranks and starts but it never changes from "stall". The troubleshooting process says check wiring which is all solid. Not sure where to go from here.

I'm cold and wet, so I'm done for today lol. Will get on the phone with Holly and start working on the issue with them when time permits.

well that's good but sucks it don't run. make sure key on positive stays hot in start position and key on eng off. also make sure tach led is proper . if it has an heiress distributer then its the wire on the left .brown or tan wire .i finished the 47 lincoln on friday with the fuel injection . at fist it was rough but starting smoothing out as it learned air/fuel strategy its scary fast now . lol

I’m from the world of LS SWAP THAT BITCH.

The tried and true LS.... it gets so boring though. I can appreciate how cheap it is and how well it works though.

Making 2,000whp on a 5.8 mod Ford is expensive as hell. Even a Yote’ is a world of problems.

Edit: I’d post a pic of the race car, but too many people on the internet know the car/me. You guys up there have some neat rides though, be cool to see more.

$$$$ need $$$$

I have so much cash tied up in my crib right now. It's scary how much cash a remodel will swipe from a check book. I'll trade oils for one, no joke lol. If I get an LS I need to work on the 200r4, pretty sure an LS would pull that apart in no time.

Aren’t there people running 3,000hp on built 4r200s? I know there is a place over in FL that specializes in 6r80 / 4r200hub trans that hold up well.

I did have power in the on position, and no power when off. No HEI, so I went to the tach side of the distributor. Seemed to be a good connection, could be something going on with the cap maybe? I just need some time to play around with it, no in the rain and snow lol.

Absolutely there are, this is all original though. No upgrades

If you’re not rich as fuck, you can build an LS or 2J for cheap. And that’s where my love for the LSs come from. You can get a brand new bottom end in the $5k range without cutting corners.

Nice man. Should be cool once its ironed out. Those cars are getting hard to find and value is going up for real. Good luck. Id say Check the flux capacitor but I'm sure you already have.

Took another look at it today. The dang rotor wire harness wasnt 100% plugged in. Fixed that and she lit right up, sounds great actually!

On to my next problem. It stalls when I hit the gas...

Got the stalling issue fixed, it was a setting in the software. Nothing major, just getting used to the workflow they have for getting it tuned up is all. Everything was going great, had the old bitch warmed up and was getting the throttle blades set and I noticed some fuel on the outside of the efi unit, drivers side. I dried it all up and continued to watch for the leak, hoping it was an inlet or clamp issue (something easily fixed) but what I found is the leak is coming from the bottom interior part of the mini fuel rail the unit has in it. It's not a end user serviceable part according to Holley so I pulled the unit out and it is in the mail headed back to the professionals. Will update with a finely tuned baby blue gbody next week sometime (hopefully)

Burn out pics or ban! Lol
Nice work icky. I’d love to buy a grand national. I see them at mecum and Barrett Jackson auction but damn there proud of those things with the money there asking.

I have a 86 monte and want to convert to a fuel injection system. They have kits to convert over, starts around 1k. Basically it's a carb replacement that looks like a carb but isn't.

Anyone ever use these? Experience?

Thanks guys

Lets quit fuckin around icky

Dude, would love to. I could have spent about 15k on a God damn powerplant and drive train if I didn't buy this pig of a house. I'm going to find a block that needs to be rebuilt and get after it. Only way I'm going to get anything good in the near future.

Holley says an injector oring was pinched and needs to be replaced. That's the fuel leak, ffs...

I like the car. Cant stand the 305

I had a 305 in an old chevy pu suburban propane truck that i bought for like $800 when i was a teenager. It was converted to a 1 ton drive train and had a 3 spd manual. Made alot of noise. Had zero balls and ate a ton of gas.

My best friend had a 305 in an older camaro we rode around in for a few summers. Same issue. Zero fucking power. I cant stand the 305. Just an abortion. The 350 is a much better alternative. But if an LS based engine is still what u want kinda hard not to go to a full 6.0 with a modern 6spd while your at it. It be only 15k er so and by far your cheapest and easiest option. The cam in block design GM still uses makes upgrades easy and affordable cuz swapping out a cam and pushrods n all. The 5.0 woulda been a much cooler build tho. Dual overhead cams and 4 valves per cyclinder is NOT inline with cheap builds tho LMAO! But the 5.0 responds better to boost than any 5.3, 6.0 or 6.2 available. Its not hating its just the truth. I love GM! Its the nature of having heads that massive on top of your block. The coyote is much smaller in displacement than its competitor the 6.2 but is physically larger due in whole to the size of the heads.

I didnt even get in to the topic of "LS" swaps. Because unless its a true LS sourced from a GM crate or a corvette its not in actuality an LS. The 5.3, 6.0 and 6.2 found in the trucks are just based on an LS but lack all the performance inners. They have iron blocks(some 6.2s can be found in aluminum) and much taller intakes designed for low end torque for truck duty. They would never fit in that form inside a corvette engine bay. Thats what makes an actual LS an LS. AND THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE OF THE BUILT IN TECH. What ppl refer to as LS swaps are in fact usually just vortec swaps.

Gladly take a vortec over a 305 in a heartbeat lol.

I would literally have to figure out something with my frame, I can see that body warping under a lot of torque.

Efi landed today. Holley paperwork just says misc parts used and a sticker was on the unit saying it passed inspection. Nothing specific which kind of pisses me off, I want to know what went wrong. Anyway, it's being reinstalled tomorrow. Also calling Holley tomorrow loo
