what the fuck is with the gas prices? the shit here in florida is average 1.76 gal it takes me fucking 55.00 to fill my damn tank, and the shitty thing is it only last 6 days, what the fuck someone do something about this bullshit, president Bush are you there, fix this fucking problem I voted for you.

1.54 here for reg and 1.64 89 and 1.72 for 93.its cheaper some places and higher others.this is pretty high for here.mine holds around 30gals,gets about 14mpg and i drive for a living.fuck im broke

yea it sucks...just saw somthing on the news saying it may go over 3/gal this summer in some states. I think Cali being one of them! Hell i only put in 87 up here in IOWA and its still way too expensive...especially when you have a gas guzzling truck that gets about 10mpg

gas prices are so damn high because the refineries we do have are only working at 60% capacity, tops. realistically worldwide it's probably 40% capacity. the only reason gas is so expensive is because the bottlenecks that oil companies impose on themselves so they can keep their product higher priced and in demand. same goes for diamonds. they mine a couple of tons of jem quality diamonds and sell a lb of them to the public.

Ca. $2.00 per gallon average. I was listening to a radio station that reported the reason was because two refineries are producing less and opec decided to decrease production. In other words, they know we cant do a damn thing about price gouging and they make more money. In Cali, prices jumped 36 cents in one month. Hell, that is outrageous. Have you noticed when the prices go back down it, it goes down two or three cents per week, but when it goes up, it goes up 10-15 cents per week. They have us by the ballls. I say, we should all buy some expensive gas then use it to burn the executives houses down. Who's with me?

In all seriousness, what can the American govt do about oil prices? Not very much at all, aside from opening up ANWAR to drilling.

A long term solution would be to greatly expand the use of nuclear energy, thereby reducing our reliance on foreign oil. But I dont see that happening as some people think that Chernobyl would happen in their backyard. Im not a big fan of France, but they have the right idea in using nuclear energy for over 25% of all production. I think the US could easily derive 30-40% from nuclear power. Nuclear is a much cleaner burning fuel, produces way more energy per unit of fuel, and has been proven to be very safe. Switching to that would greatly reduce pollution from power factories nationwide, so then the treehuggers could get off our ass for buying a 10mpg truck.
