May? That's almost 4 months ago.
Yea my bad, go to
www.pollingreport.com they have polls as new as August 29th and September 4th. I just looked at the new updated August 29th poll. Here are some of the results to popular questions.
Bob Smith is right most Americans do belive it was the right thing to go to Iraq %55 believe so, %38 disagree. But if you look at the polls below, which are all recent polls(all taken in late august early september) it is quite clear that the People do not believe George W. Bush is heading us in the right direction.
"Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling the situation in Iraq?"
Approve %45
Disapprove %52
"All in all, do you think the situation in Iraq was worth going to war over, or not?"
Worth it %44
Not worth it %51
"Do you think the U.S. should keep military troops in Iraq until a stable government is established there, or do you think the U.S. should bring its troops home as soon as possible?"
Keep there %55
Bring home %41
Do you think George W. Bush has a clear plan for bringing the situation in Iraq to a successful conclusion, or don't you think so?"
Has a clear plan %36
Dont think so %58
"When it comes to the war in Iraq, do you think that removing Saddam Hussein from power was or was not worth the number of U.S. military casualties and the financial cost of the war?"
Worth it %43
Not worth it %49
"In general, do you think going to war with Iraq has made Americans safer from terrorism, or not?"
Safer %45
Not safer %50
"Do you believe that what we were told by the government before the Iraq war about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and Iraq's links to Al Qaeda, the terrorist organization, was generally accurate or misleading?"
Accurate %37
Misleading %60
All these polls show, that Americans do think that morally it was the right thing to do by going to Iraq, but belive it was not worth it. Did not make us any safer, majority of Americans do not trust the bush administration,do not believe bush has a clear plan to solve the problem in Iraq, and all in all disapprove overall of the way Bush is handling the situation in Iraq, so while going to Iraq may have been the right thing to do, having Bush lead the way most of us feel is wrong. I do not trust this president who touts himself off as a war president, but the funny thing is he has never stepped on a battlefield himself, except to knock his coke and alcohol problem. In conclusion I do not know who to vote for, But I do know this has been one shitty 4 years.
