[SIZE=-1]Florian Busch, who plays for Polar Bears Berlin, refused to give a sample when officials from the National Anti-Doping agency arrived unannounced at his home on March 6, saying he did not want to be disturbed while relaxing with his girlfriend.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Several hours later, however, he declared himself ready to be tested and subsequent tests were negative.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]According to the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency, refusing a test is equal to flunking one and draws a two-year ban.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]But the German ice hockey federation only fined Busch 5,000 euros (C$6,300), ordered him to do 56 hours of community work and gave him an official warning. The federation considered the case closed and Busch played for Germany at the IIHF World Championship in Canada in May. WADA later appealed the ruling, demanding a two-year ban.[/SIZE]
