Getting Blood done. Need advice.

I am going to get bloods done soon. I plan on telling the Doc about my self administered TRT and my AAS use. What should I ask to have looked at besides the Test, Free test, HDL/LDL and Lipids. I want as much looked for as possible. I get 1 free blood test a year through my Ins. and I want to be as specific as possible. Thanks!

Couple questions. Why are you going to tell your pcp you are abusing drugs? Just for a free blood draw? I am truly curious if you have thought this through. Are you in a state that does not allow self prescribed bloods?

As far as blood draw, what you mentioned is a good start. You may also want to get liver enzymes, estradiol, progesterone. May as well go all out if you are gonna have ins pay for it.

@puckhog ....No I haven't really thought it through to be honest. From what I gathered I couldn't get in any trouble for doing so. If that IS NOT the case then I will keep it to myself and just ask for all the above to be tested for. I figured by telling Him that would help me to get all the stuff looked at that needs to be.

Dude depending on what state you're in, if you get the blood tests ordered by your doctor then those tests will get distributed to them. At that point they will know 100% that something is up. At that point he/she will probably question you and/or could refuse to treat you once they do find out your abusing AAS's. I would order bloods privately and just cough up the dough cause its no that expensive.

Thanks dude. Ill just do that then. I was just being a cheap bastard trying to take advantage of a free test. Oh well. What are the best Private labs to do the test at? and which one would you suggest? I've seen a couple that you can order online.

I am in the same situation at the moment. Any lab you can do online is a long damn ways away. I want to get the coveted "understanding" doc that just wants you to be healthy no matter what you pursue but I also don't want to risk it. In my searches I haven't really found any horror stories on what "could" happen so that is promising. If you do decide to go this route please keep us updated.

Practitioners should not disclose anything they learn from you under the hipaa rules other than certain crimes where there is imminent harm to be done to you or someone else (even gunshot wounds even if it was the result of horseplay ask me how i know.) Drug use doesn't qualify. There may be some states with tighter reporting standards but i would be surprised is any states require them to report aas use.

I use Discountedlabs and WalkInLAbs. Also LabsMD offers monthly discounts there is a thread over on ASF usually posts the monthly discount code not sure its been kept up to date. Not sure what state you are in labs can be requested by the patient in almost all states except for a few communist states NY NJ RI MD MA and there may be a few more you need to check each lab.

Many of these tests are in the CBC you will get done some on here you may not need but if its not on here you probably dont need it.

My doctor started to find ouy i took AAS because i kept asking for bloodwork. Eventually he started to say if you dont stop you need to find another doctor. So i just stopped AAS and got a normal test result. Then never got bloodwork done from him again besides like STD and everything but not test levels. It didnt workout that good. Because of my colestetol being off and srarting them starting to panic. So i told him if i cease all use everything will go back to normal. And he let me show him that by doing one last blood test. So it worked. But it started to be a hassele.

As an aside I have told doctors I am on script TRT using an anti aging clinic in Florida (which was true at one time) an not once has anyone ask to see my scripts and if they did i would tell them its none of their business. I have only disclosed that I think when i went in for abdominal pains one time and another time I was having some minor foot surgery and needed to do pre-op labs and EKG I just wanted to be upfront that I was on test and an AI but i discontinued any other aas ahead of time so I didnt need to disclose that too. I went to a doc recently for some other random bloodwork got the results saw my hematocrit was up because i was overdue for a donation but went in to see the doc she never asked why it was elevated but i think she knew. I prefer dont ask dont tell when possible.

Hey ulta labs is cheaper and walk in labs is good too just pick the test then pay online if have a hsa debit card use that.Print paperwork go to whatever lab is closest and get blood drawn.Its easy unless you have a super cool doctor who is for trt I wouldnt tell him anything unless having a medical issue already!

Not sure what country your in but there is a few online blood test companies, they send you a collection kit you fill it with blood (either using multiple finger pricks or IV aspiration with slin pin) send it back and get results in a few days. You can pick and choose what markers u want testing, price adjusts to suit. Easy as that, been a few offers on too lately. No ID is needed so fake details can be used to maintain maximum confidentiality.
