I'd wait until you graduated man - no sure what you're course load is like, but balancing that (and shit you're a freshman) and real life health risks could come with some consequences.

Remember that everything you do you will pay for in some way or another. I appreciate the enthusiasm like others have said, but I'm having trouble getting up for this with the extreme lack of knowledge I'm seeing...

Good decision man - you'll thank yourself in the long run. If I started over I would get cut first bf in the 12-15% range and lean bulk essentially for eternity. Then when you eventually cycle you'll look like an absolute beast. I'm in my early-mid 20s and cycling AAS for the first time

I think when you're benching 3 plates and squatting at least 3 you're ready. Assuming diet is good to go as well.

I can def. already squat 3 plates, my chest is honestly my weakest part. Really focusing in on it and trying to get it much stronger. Dont know why but my back is pretty strong and my legs and definitely hang in, just gotta work on my arms and chest.
 
I'm sorry if this post gets long and lengthy, or annoying. To start off, i'm 99% of the time not one to rant or bitch or complain. My philosophy has always been and always will be "take what's good out of bad situations." However tonight, it kind of itched me in a funny way.

I went into the gym at 11:30 PM. There was a younger guy and girl working out but they left about 10 minutes after i got there. An older fella was doing his typical lifting/treadmill like he does every night at this time (which i really admire, he's gotta be 60+.) Then this guy who appeared to be 20-30 years old comes in. Now when i go into the gym (main reason i go this late) is because i go as hard as i can. I dont like to fuck around. I dont decide to work out just to see my girl the next day, or friends and say hey i went to the gym yesterday and destroyed it. I go in, i lift as heavy as i possibly can hitting 10, then 8, and ultimately down to 6, then back up (lighter at 10, heavier as i go back down) and i just pyramid that way. But i lift basically as much as i can, meaning that last rep, i'm digging so deep down into my gut i feel like i'm about to take a shit.

Now let me state this, the reason i also go in this late is i'm a loud lifter. I fucking grunt, i yell to amp my self up, and i walk around and vent between sets to amp my self up. Once again, i lift to fucking lift and get gains. If i dont feel a pump, and i've been lifting for an hour, i'll lift for another hour, and another hour, til i feel the pump i want, and need. So yeah, i get pretty fucking nuts (not obnoxious to where you'll hear me outside), but if you dont have headphones on, and no one else is in the gym, yeah, you'll hear me.

Anyways, i'm deadlifting right, and fucking KILLING it. I lifted shit i thought i wouldn't have been able to lift for another month, once again i haven't deadlifted for probably 6-8 months. And i was SMASHING. I mean, i was getting on my knees, and literally rubbing the weights just imagining myself make it my bitch, no joke. So between sets, i walk around, get water, vent, amp my self up for my next set. I kept noticing this guy would turn around and side eye me while fucking wimping along on the treadmill at -5 miles an hour. So i kind of look back and nod and ask him if he was waiting to use the bar or something (even though i knew there were another 3 bars and plenty of space.) He turns his bitchmill off, walks over to me and kind of talks condescending to me. He starts going "you know, i'm just trying to get a peaceful cardio session in, so you can just stop walking around and making noises. I literally just felt fire through my entire body. Now i know i easily could have gone off and probably fucked this guy up and ended up in jail, but the older and smarter me decided to just channel the inner fire and fucking smash weights.

About 5 minutes later, i notice he's over on a machine, another 5 minutes later, he walks out. I didn't stop grunting, i didn't stop amping, i was there to get the fucking pump and burn i wanted. I'm sorrry if your midnight cardio session was a LITTLE bit noisier then it normally is, but hey, im there for a reason. Anyways, neatly enough, i decide to throw another 15 pounds to each side for my deadlifts, mind you i was already having a tough time repping 6, on the 6th, squeeeeeeeeezing to finish off. I fucking lifted like i never have. Burns like i never have. Greatest feeling i've ever had.

However while walking home after, i kind of looked back at the situation and wondered. Why do people go to the gym, just to work out for 15-20 minutes, work light(as in no burn at all) and not get a pump at all. It almost seems completely pointless. I mean, lifting is really all or none. Gains are gains, and you won't get them unless you push. It fucking pissed me off, but hey, at least he helped me push harder and dig deeper. Thanks random douche bag.

I know, i've probably came off as a douche bag my self, and to be 100% honest, i am normally not like this, this is simply the only place i write at and felt i needed to let a little off. Anywho, it's now 1:30 AM, and i just got back from the gym 15 minutes ago, still sweaty as fuck and nasty as fuck and feeling GREAT AS FUCK. I best be showering and prepare for some gains tomorrow night.

I'm on the fence with grunting and dropping weights. Reminds me of female tennis players who grunt after hitting a tennis ball. Some do it because they were trained to exhale when hitting the ball, while some obviously do it as a distraction to their opponent.

I don't mind somebody letting out some steam on that last rep to get it up, but a lot of these guys are looking for attention. It becomes a trained habit and eventually can have you belting out noises every rep. Either way, people can train and get bigger without being obnoxious, it all depends on how much respect you have for others.

Lastly, if the gym doesn't have rules about grunting or screaming, the guy has no right coming up to you and complaining. If they do have rules, I would probably find a gym more compatible with your lifting style or try being more quiet.

There's no rules stating you can't, and I get where you're coming from and I don't grunt every rep. It just helps me dig deeper and push that extra rep or two out
 
Not to mention I also go in at midnight as during the day a lot more casual lifters go in and I know it can be distracting. I prefer to lift alone where I can do my thing. Occasionally another person will be in there and I try to accommodate to them, however I do what I have to do to get what I want
 
Funny you mention, tweaked my lower back a little dead lifting last night but it happens. Bis n tris tonight. TIME TO KILL BOYS
