Ohio 1970 Kent State University Shootings - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

This is one of those events in life where you recall exactly where you were and what you did. I was expelled from school for lowering the flag to half mast. The authorities did not like my action. Even more so since I was the senior class president. And, then Jackson State ... Things have not changed much except those in power have become adept at covering their tracks.

The Kent State shootings (also known as the May 4 massacre or the Kent State massacre) occurred at Kent State University in the US city of Kent, Ohio, and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.

so Ive been listening to a lot of electronic music lately. psychedelic, trance, goa, whatever you want to call it. I like the way sounds, builds and moves. somehow, somewhere, this got thrown into a mix and I immediately recognized it. maybe someone else can also? somewhere its says its one of the saddest song ever. everything in context though.

B. B. King, Defining Bluesman for Generations, Dies at 89
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/16/arts/music/b-b-king-blues-singer-dies-at-89.html

B. B. King, whose world-weary voice and wailing guitar lifted him from the cotton fields of Mississippi to a global stage and the apex of American blues, died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was 89.

B. B. stood for Blues Boy, a name he took with his first taste of fame in the 1940s. His peers were bluesmen like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, whose nicknames fit their hard-bitten lives. But he was born a King, albeit in a sharecropper’s shack surrounded by dirt-poor laborers and wealthy landowners.
