Anybody have a favorite brand/style of weight lifting belt they use? Any negatives to using a lifting belt?

If you're interested in buying a heavy duty belt, I would suggest one of those inzer belts like the strongmen and power lifters use. I think I've seen even branch warren train with that kind of belt, and the good thing is that they have a lifetime warranty (at least when I bought mine) and so if the lever breaks then you send it back and they send you a new piece to fill in for the broken one. My only gripes that they are very expensive for a belt, so unless your lifting heavy weight, I would just go to like sports authority and pick up a little cheapy $20 one.

Here's the link if you want to check it out.

I like those, thanks for that link, 80 bucks isnt a bad price either, I heard the best ones to use are the power lifting 4" belts, but I wanted to get some opinions, looks like its the consensus. The older I get Im starting to become aware of the consequences of injury. Thanks again for the link!!

To be honest i have a cardello training belt and couldnt ask for a all around better belt, unless your looking to do some serious powerlifting. I mean yea there a little steep on the price side but well worth it just google cardello belts and there page will come up they have a few different styles.

Been using Cardello for years. Handmade belts. Unfotunately the guy who makes them is about 80ish and not in great health at the moment.

Once they break in the are the best. I'm no Elite powerlifter but I Deadlift over 500 and squat over 400, which is at least respectable, and have never had an issue with the belt. Maybe someday when I squat 600 I will outgrow it :D

I LOVE SQATS....love em. A highly recommend a good thick powerlifting belt. There is nothing like going into the gym loading up the plates. Everyone looking at you like.... dam thats some weight?? Then going deep.

Here is the belt I use (see pic). Not sure on the brand, but as you can see at least an inch worth of leather. I feel a lot more confident when pushing substantial weight.

Superman that's either a Cardello or an imposter cardello. The only thing throwing me is mine has "Cardello" stiched across the belt loop. It looks like it has to be one though.

I got a harbinger padded leather belt. I like it, it was 30 at dicks. I only use it for my heavy sets of squat and deadlift so for me it's good enough.
