Gr8whitetrukker goin to the dark side!!

Are you doing back squats the Olympic / high bar form or the low bar / powerlifting form?

Form breaks very easily when many lifters go ATG on the low bar / powerlifting style back squat I've noticed. High Bar Back Squat or Front squat work better with below parallel / atg depth.

To be honest idk. You'd think that for 16 yrs experience I would know but I just place it in a natural position, right on top the meat of my traps. Doesn't sit on spine at all. The I use my hands and pinch.

Also I was a leg press queen for years. I only started a serious squat routine this time around coming off of 4 yrs non training. So relatively speaking im a novice in squat hence my lowish numbers. I got away with it for years because I have nice symmetry and powerful big legs naturally. So I could look like a serious squatter without having to actually do it. But so far progress is coming quick and I can actually say me and squats actually like each other!

Yeah its probably not that important anyway, just something that came to my mind real quick. Sounds like strengthening your lumbar erectors will help you out a lot here and also help relieve lower back discomfort. I like Romanian Deadlifts personally, they do a nice job of it.
 
Have you tried lighter weight, with a high volume of repetitions ?

Definitely! But right now since im bulking I doing heavy sets of 3. I often pyramid down during a squatting session. I have a hard on for getting 405 so im obsessed with that right now. 405 for 3 that is. Im not into 1RM

Im convinced deadlifts are the devil. After what they done to me its foolish to revisit them
 
Sometimes you have to accept it's not bout the heavy numbers brother ... U can still build legs ad back without Atg squats and w/ on deads ... Maybe it'll take longer but it's always about the end result and the end game .. Take ur time do what feels right on ur body
 
I am part titatium. one small plate. . 8 1'' titanium screws, very nice ones too, with titanium rods, and then small titanium pins .. all bot
 
Another great workout!

Im making the transition to higher reps and more time under tension. Turning away from heavier reps and sets. Its that point in time. I feel the test coming on now like a run away freight train! Its got me loaded and swole. I can feel the higher reps squeezing out pain and I love it!

Back day. 4 exercises 4 sets each total 16 sets for back/traps and 8 sets shoulders. Watch the fuck out. Gotta turn sideways to get down narrow openings. Forecast today...cloudy cuz my lats block out the sun.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FUCKERS! Im taking my 2 boys out trick or treating tonite. Cant wait its gonna be quality family time!
 
Maybe try some lighter Romans with dumbells instead for high reps (12 - 15) with say the 50 - 70lb dumbbells? It hammers my hamstrings!!! Also squating 225lbs for reps is always a good way to get a good sore. Another thing I recently tried is switching my stance for extra sets.

Example:
4 - 5 sets of standard stance squats
3 sets of a wider stance squats (getting low as possible)
3 sets of a narrow stance squats (this one it's not too much about depth because you're lower back might start talking to you if you know what I mean)

Gets me a good sore the next day!
BTW: I'm mid 30's, 5'-10" 205lbs, Squat max 425.
 
Me and my wife had a great time last night bringing the kids out trick or treating. I cant believe how old their getting. Its like, wtf it seems like just the other year I graduated high school. Now im 30 been together 13 yrs and got 2 kids and they ain't babies any more. Wow time flies.

On another note I missed my inj last night in the midst of all the fun. I made it up this morning. 2cc left quad full on gusher. Surprised the shit outta her. Must of nicked a vessel cuz there was no pain on the way in. As soon as she pulled out the blood sprang to the surface like a mini geyser. A first time for every thing I guess. Bled profusely for about 20 seconds then completely stopped lol kinda cool actually
 
So im finally starting to see some negative sides. For a while I was getting nervious. I got some acne that came outta the blue mostly on my arms and back. Thats some thing I haven't dealt with since I was a testosterone raging teenager so it has to be from the test. Also I seem to be stalling out around 259-261 ish. Which is good I guess. Idk how much heavier I really wanted to get anyway. I got some recomp to do so I can convert some fat in to muscle. Also my sex drive has hit its stride. The site of my wife's butt cheeks has me chomping at the bit lol. Feels great! I think she's a bit sore still so ill hafta paint the sink for a few days...
