Greatest American Rock Band?????

I hate to jump in the middle of something that I didn't pay any attention in the first place, but I must say that I like Bob Dylan. You can't beat "Blood on the Tracks".

I can't believe there is only one mention of Black Sabbath. I know they are not American, but I still rank them near the top when Ozzy was the lead man.

And Phreezer, Ted's first band was the Amboy Dukes. Journey to the Center of the Mind is a classic.

Bob,,,,when it comes to music, you must be gay. :p ACDC is most definately in the top ten all time.

PINK FLOYD OR TOOL

I am not sure how you could even put anyone on the same ballot as these 2

I saw Pink Floyd at Texas Stadium in 1994 - was great! My buddy and I forgot to wear bring earplugs, however. :( We had 28th row seats on the floor, maybe 75 feet from that huge fucking stack of JBL speakers. My ears were still ringing 24 hours after the concert - loudest concert I have ever been to.

I LLOOVVEE Tool. God those guys kick ass. Tool is definitely in my top 10 favorite bands of all time, maybe around #7 or #8.

Chip Bronson, you are the MAN!!! :) If you are ever in my neck of the woods, give me a holler. We can go see a live band, or we might even be able to drive a little bit and see a great rock concert! Take care buddy!

funny how music can bring people together... :D yeah, i love soundgarden and alice in chains so much that i had a cover band called 'garden of chains'. great vocalist with huge voice and range. we also threw in a few kiss covers (hey they, along with sabbath, were a tremendous infuence on soundgarden), the lesser knowns like 'got to choose', 'american man' and 'take me'. this was the early-to-mid-nineties.

ahhhh, those were the days my brothers. music, chicks, parties, chicks, booze, chicks.... oh, and did i mention chicks?...

you too dbpress. give a hooer when you're in nyc, eh brother? take care.

LoL VDC you cant realy count Jimi as a band because he was more of a solo artist with a couple average musicians that looked like Bob Dylan's grandmother just doing there best to keep time. :D

Some of you guys like a bunch of no-talent ass clowns (Kiss, for example)!! All time has to go to probably Metallica. Album after album, they pushed the envelope, reinvented themselves, and set the standard higher each go 'round. They've also got longevity. However, my favorite band vote has to go to Tool.

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullett band, rock.
Van Halen-not Van Hager, Eddie was an animal with a guitar
Ted Nugent Rocks also, not a band but he still rocks.
Old School Carlos Santanna- not the new stuff.

Man i hope your not serious here. Your talking about Metallica right? The same band that said we will never sell out our true loyal fans just to hit the main streem and then sold out for the main streem. And IMO Metallica aint made a real good cd since Cliff died and his last was master of puppets and i dont even wana talk about there new shit.
And Tool is good and i also like Perfect Circle but bro KISS has done more for rock n roll than you have any idea about.

Yeah bro but that was just the Lady Land album, i love Jimi but IMO Mitch and Noel were just riding the gravey train. Hey VDC do you have the H&L sessions that chip burnt me? I traded him a rare Thin Lizzy BBC concert for it and didnt even hafe to use classifieds. :D Thx chippy the cd is almost like ladyland outtakes and is beyond beyond. Here is some more rock trivia: Huey Lewis got his first start in rock playing harmonica for Thin Lizzy.

No I don't have them,,,I was listening to Todd Rundgren's Utopia- Another Live cd today,,,This is an awesome album,,,If you like Rush you'll love thios,,,Great band,,,I've seen Todd live,,,Very cool dude,,,Always pits together great bands,,,"You may think that I'm a fool, but I know the answer. Words become a tool. Anyone can use them. Take the golden rule as the best example. Eyes that have seen will know what I mean."-Just One Victory,,,True space hippy music,,,

I have a cd with Albert King and SRV playing, talking between numbers,,,Albert mentions jamming with Jimi and Janus,,,Now that I would love to have,,,Albert is a great blues guitarist,,,Albert and Stevie play so much alike it was hard to tell where one picked up and the other left off,,,VDC
