Guns

Gonna love following this thread! Some nice rifles you guys have!

I was lucky to have a father who was a lieutenant in corrections. Since I was 13 it was common for him to give me his pistols and shotgun and a couple boxes of ammo and told me to go have fun outside by myself. Been shooting since I was about 8. Ever since I've been addicted to guns and training.

I've since decked out my SBR. Here is the baby that sleeps next to me EVERY night:

Here is my SBR in concealed carry backpack mode if I want to take it around town:

Along with 8 mags in the bag and a cleaning kit:

And all concealed up!:

And when I want to go a little more stealth I wear my Glock and maybe even take a Go bag:

Good looking folder with ivory handle there - what is that?

Which number pic? Not sure what you're mentioning.

If it's one of the blades, none of them are ivory. I wish though.

The very first picture. Obviously not real ivory, some hi-tech plastic these days.

Ivory is actually fairly inferior strength-wise. And obviously it'd feel weird to have new ivory.

I've got a matching pair of straitedge shaving knives with ivory handles that belonged to my great-grandfather - I use those with great care. Killer sharp Sheffield steel.

How long did it take for the tax stamp and wait period for the sbr? I really need an sbr and suppresor. Your collection is impressive.

Screenshot_20160808-162126.png anybody shot one of these or own one. I'm looking for something smaller to carry that I can just throw in my pocket. Got a 40xd but it's usually left at the house especially if I'm in a hurry. I'd really like something thats easier to conceal carry.

It's actually not an SBR, although I call it that since it performs as one.

Technically it is an AR pistol with a Sig Arm Brace. It's meant to strap to your arm, but it can be "misused" as a shoulder stock making it an SBR. Just don't let the ATF see you doing that.

I prefer this loophole rather than adding my name to a government list for a class 3 weapon. And no stamp needed.

Suppressor laws unfortunately just changed July 13th this year making the process a bit more difficult. You can refer to this site for the best way to get one safely with the right paperwork:

After working in some "higher" risk situations, I would be extremely hesitant to carry a weapon with only 2 shots. The average hit to miss ratio according to the FBI for "trained" LEO is about 15% hits. What is 15% of 2?.......

And the average gunfight is within 6 feet. So you can expect in a life and death fight to miss your target that is only 6 feet away 85% of the time.

This isn't target practice at a range, this is you dodging for cover while someone is shooting at you or trying to stab you and you return fire under extreme stress.

If you carry a weapon to protect your families, you should be paying to get trained in using it for a fight. If you have spent more money on your weapons than you have on training, you are doing it wrong. You weapons should come last, and training should come first.

I've grown up hunting and shooting. No problem with marksmanship. I liked the fact its 45long colt or 410. The pattern on that thing with a shell in it has to be wide as fuck so anything in the area of the business end is in trouble. I'm not saying it's the most ideal but my 40 is hard to hide in the summer. Be nice to have something to fit in my pocket. The guy brandishing the biggest thing on his hip is ether a deterrent or a target. I don't like those odds. I'd rather hide it.

I have seen people get shot. It does not stop them. You get shot with a pistol, you run away go to the hospital get surgery and live... Or you keep attacking and kill your intended victim with a bullet in your chest.

Killing them stops them. It's the only way brother. Stay safe.

I've also taken 2 does with the 40 both less than 40ft but both with one shot each.

Edit: it's legal in my state as long as it's not fmj rounds

Main point of this post here is:

"Although both Matix and Platt were hit multiple times during the shootout, Platt fought on and continued to wound and kill agents."

My thoughts are if it can't drop a deer it can't drop a human quick enough.

Do you think a subcompact 380 or 9 would be a better choice? I'd rather have 2 rounds that I know can drop someone with, than have 8 rounds of a 380 that I know will take multiple rounds to take down. Ideally I'd like to have my 40...but I don't carry it often enough due to it being bulky.

That's why I carry a Glock 19 with an extra 15rd mag in my pocket.... Wtf knows when one of these Muslim nut jobs will open fire in a public place. It's coming, so be prepared!

Check out the Sheild 40. I've got a Sheild 9mm that I carry sometimes. EXCELLENT ccw for the price!

Man, I got my Glock 19 and spare mag concealed EVERY DAY. Very easy to conceal once you know how. And I carry my Walther as a backup.

The shield is a very nice more compact 9mm as well.

@Kakarot check out the Walther PPS .40. It's a VERY concealable .40. May be just what you are looking for.
