Guns

I'm back and forth on which one I get but most likely it will be the S&W 686 plus
I realy like the new smith model 66 with 2.75" bbl0128182123.jpg

I am very partial to the 5 shot hammerless j frames, however slightly larger this one would be good on the hip, or a glock 19 with a .38 in the pocket. The fastest reload, is another handgun. My knowledge of roids is better than average, however firearms are my passion.

Both. The trigger is smoother out of the box, but either gun does well with a little polishing. There is no bad choice.
First thing i do is get my dremel out, trim a few springs, and use FLITZ to polish all the insides to glass.

Welcome to the great commonwealth of Massachusetts

You can bumpfire many rifles simply enough without the stock. They want you to cut an arm off? Those little 3 shot cranks everyone was putting on Ruger 10/22s? Just toys. I even rigged one up to a gear driven craftsman electric screwdriver, that was fun, timing had to be right, realy no faster than i could manualy without jamming.
Is Mass a shall issue carry permit state? Just wondering.

Can you get a cocealed handgun permit there?
Yes, we can. I have one for large capacity. Kind of want the machine gun license but that's 10 grand and a whole bunch of classes plus I'd have to convince the town police chief to allow it. He knows me personally, that's not going to happen lol. He was the youth officer when I was a kid, we have a history :)

The other way around that is to get with an attorney and open some kind of trust, bypassing Leo signoff. 10 k is alot, and besides being fun, no need, more accuarate shots can be taken with semi auto anyway. I want afew suppressors. Seems like same legal hurdles just to prevent hearing loss

I just want to shoot one :p handguns, rifles and shotguns work for me!

If any of you guys with a general knowledge of hand guns feel like taking a few mins and helping a newbie out with their first purchase, could you shoot me a pm?

Very odd for me to be completely new to something. Hah

Basically looking for something to carry, I'm sure I'll do a little at the range but I can't imagine much. Mostly just a carry, home defense, and when I'm out in the woods with my dog.

Checked out a local gun shop and they steered me in the direction of a glock 19 Gen 5

Of course they did they just want your money....First you gotta figure out whether you’d like a revolver or semi-auto. That’s just personal preference. Next check out all the gun shops you can and try out everything they have...don’t let them bully you into something new. Ruger, s&w, beretta, cz (I love my p-09), glock etc all make nice ccw’s. Price is a factor too if course...just comes down to what feels the best in your hand!!

Everyday dress and ammo availability in you area are factors to consider also.

I'd suggest going to a range and renting the gun or guns you're considering.

I carry a gen 4 g19 for my edc and haven't had any issues. The write ups I've read on the gen 5 show a bit of an improvement.

I own other handguns but Glock is my preference for a defensive carry gun.
