Guns

Yeah they got alot of interesting caliber offerings. I think i even seen it in .45ACP? But i like the idea of a .357 or a .44 just because its an old cowboy rifle and its nostalgic like that. The lever action on these model 94s are sweet. It feels like the guts of the gun are just dropping out lol. Simple and effective. And accurate as hell! Henry has alot in this category
They definitely made them in 45 LC. Not sure about 45 ACP

Look brother i dont want to argue. I think weve both made our points. The difference is i know full well military style training is not fit for civilian defense. I mean the actual skill is good but not the mindset. More specifically the mindset that you are displaying. LE is infintely more experienced in this field than military because there is a difference between clearing buildings in a hostile zone and protecting life and property. One exercises extreme hostility and the other exercises due diligence. In the civilian world you have a civic duty to know your rights, exercise them and keep others out of the equation. That is our civic duty as armed sheep dogs. And i would further add if one does want to take up concealed carry to train accordingly. Firearm retention, weapon scramble drills, managing space during conflict, practice effective draw technique, practice under duress and most importantly train the skill set that is non lethal. Because that is the one you will encounter 9/10 over a gun fight. Jiu jitsu, boxing is ok. Lots of martial arts out there but bjj stands out i think above the rest. Because if you dont know it your fucked. It doesnt come natural to anybody. Not like throwing a punch er some thing. Because if it comes right down to it and you had to absolutely use your gun both parties already lost. One will end up dead and the other in a host of legal issues.

As far as a rifle for home defense you left so much open in the argument. About spraying thru walls n shit. Thatll get u fucked up legally. No doubt about that. In an apt situation a rifle is clearly the wrong choice. Even with soft tips. In a house assuming your dont have immediate neighbors and whether your house has 1 floor or 2 and the direction of the collateral damage all has to be considered. All these reasons alone are enough for some one to see and say hmmmm....maybe not a good idea. Theres really one 1 situation i can see a rifle and FMJs working out. That is a 2 lvl house and the intruder is met by the defender down stairs where NO ONE is sleeping and all rounds are sent in the direction of a vast and open field...pretty small scenario there. Thats not most peoples scenario.

Theres alot to consider and those decisions are very important man.

Any way

I do appreciate you not blasting me if I were your neighbor however I would disagree that BJJ is the best for self-defense: it’s probably the best in a mma setting but I’d say something like Krav Maga would be superior for real life self-defense.

Ill agree with you on boxing/BJJ/wrestling. I will not ever agree with you on LE, they are laurel and hardy at best. The worst example of how to handle a firearm and or tactics. Listen use your shotgun and hesitate while thinking about your civic duty, I simply will not.
Not once did I say spraying through walls, sheet rock doesn’t stop any round period. You aren’t going to shoot through the wall a bad guy is using for cover ? You going to use that same sheet rock wall as cover while reloading ? You act like I said I’d do a 360 firing through every wall in my home hoping to hit my neighbors. Cut the shit dude it’s disingenuous.

Are you talking about all cops or just regular patrolmen and detectives cause many of the swat teams eg like from the NYPD are pretty skilled.

My FIL came over for the holidays and brought his inherited Winchester Model 94. This Model 94 was produced in 1954 which makes it a collectors item. It was a pre '64 model when Winchester redesigned the rifle to the the dismay of enthusiast's. The newer design just kinda fucked up the beauty of the old classic. These 30-30s mfg before '64 are pretty cool time pieces. It was inherited from gpa and he never even shot it during his entire life. My FIL brought it over and we broke it in together. These were my pins at 300 yards. Looks like the ol girl puts em where shes told.

Hes older than i am and cant shoot iron sites quite as well. He wants to put updated sites on this thing and im just like NOOOOOOOOO.
Id like to get one chambered in 30-30 or maybe even .44 or .357. Havent decided yet. Simply because its just plain cool. Henry Rifles has alot of cool offerings in this category. I may go that route.

Every gun owner should own a Henry rifle. Love the 22 mag. Great trapping gun.

How's everyone sitting with ammo? I need to do a count soon.
I only have 9 mm, .22, 5.56, .308, and 12 gauge.
Ammo prices are great currently, take advantage of it if you need to.

Never shot one but pretty impressed that they got a 50 caliber round to fit an AK-47 bolt face in an AR-15 platform. Pretty ingenious. I wonder how much the rounds are?
Just looked them up, they are a $1.30 a round... really not that bad considering.

Great selection of weapons laid out there. I'm especially fond of the Heckler & Koch 45. I've never owned one myself since they're 16 inches. I would have a hard-on for the pistol version with a pistol brace if they ever get their shit together. Right now I'm stuck with a MP5 9 mm if I want to go that route and the 45 is just so much more sexy! Glad to hear it's one of your favorite shooters, I'm a massive 45 guy myself.
What year is your M1A? It looks like a shooter not a collector which is cool, I generally go that route as I like to shoot instead of safe queen stuff.
