Gut Health

Who worries about their gut health? Lately, I've been fascinated by it, but products like probiotics and other supplements largely appear to be a sham.... I was listening to Ben Pakulksi's podcast, and Dr. Zach Bush was talking about his product (Yes, always a bit worrisome when someone is selling something), and it's alleged profound results with his patients and other Dr.'s patients, as well.

Amazon reviews almost unanimously are positive.... Thoughts on this product, and gut health in general?

I heard the same podcast. I was wondering the same thing. It makes sense. I been hearing a lot about gut health.

I will get some and report back. I have dairy sensitivity, and my girl is sensitive to gluten. We'll both try it, and see if things improve.

I mean, shit man, we dump a ton of garbage into our bodies, even if we're the cleanest eaters on earth. Gotta be worth a try.

Just make your own homemade probiotics. You can find videos on utube on how to make them. I mean the worst thing that can happen is that one of the mason jar used EXPLODES like Bitcoin cash when added to coinbase

I’ve been brewing Kombucha Tea for a couple months now. This has definitely improved my (and wife’s) gut health. Plus, it’s a great bubbly alternative to beer at 5pm when the kids get super annoying.

You obviously don't understand the point of this post. The point is to avoid most probiotics as they are normally only 5-7 different strains of bacteria. Whereas a normal gut biome has 20k+ species.

Again, you utterly fail to provide an ounce of worth.

How ironic since I recently had a clogged kitchen sink and checked out the Amazon reviews on the new and improved “Liquid Plumber Gel” all we’re positive!

We poured TWO GALLONS of that
stuff into the abyss and low and behold NOTHING happened except it stunk up the house.

I wonder how many NEGATIVE reviews remain on the sidelines?

Jim :)

While I know this new trend of "gut health/biome" is almost entirely met with negativity from the medical community, there may be something to it. Everything MDs are taught seems to be from the 60's regarding diet and nutrition. Not all new products or ideas are bad, but, I suppose rather than exploring them, we can mock them. Whichever works.

Well... Suck a D!CK then and you will get the remaining 19 thousand species

it seems to be an emerging science. I don't worry about it, and I'm not an expert, in part because a lot of what I do seems to fall in line with whats recommended, but yeah I'm interested and think it worth exploring. one guy I like is mark sisson @ https://www.marksdailyapple.com. I check in there pretty much daily and always on sunday. I hope he doesn't mind me tagging him, but on this forum @LW64 would be the guy to talk to.

Stay away from Fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro,Levaquin.Avelox,etc.)
It kills off your good stomach flora and takes months/years to rebuild (took me several years) . Had to restock with probiotics but its a slow process...

is that your professional opinion? :)

Nope but rather based upon the dearth of evidence supporting supplement efficacy for “gut health”.

I can understand the premise of “heart health” and maybe in “lung health” but “gut health” where’s the evidence, excepting the Annuals of Online Anecdotes.
