Hair Transplant & Low Testosterone (Dr JIM)

So you have NO RESEARCH to support that which you spew!

Hello, where do you think Google Schollar acquires it's studies from, the PUB/Med data base, lol

Well then @Schredder is here for you, as bro-science anecdotes are his guiding light also.

LMAO.

Adios

What are you even talking about? What I 'spew'?!?

I am asking a question about ideal ferritin levels in men, which you can't even answer.

There's no way in hell you're a real M.D - and if you are, most unprofessional M.D ever.

Ferritin & Hair Health

For what it's worth.

As per this Dr...

"Normal ferritin levels for women are between 12 and 150 ng/mL. According to some experts, Ferritin levels of at least 40 ng/ml are required to stop hair loss, while levels of at least 70 ng/ml are needed for hair regrowth. The optimal ferritin level for thyroid function is between 90-110 ng/ml." <--- this is in women, men should be more.. I've seen for men it's 110-120.

Hair Loss And Your Thyroid Iron deficiency is the primary cause of hair loss in premenopausal women

But, it's not on google scholar so it doesn't count as factual.

Brother, I wish I could help more. I was merely showing that he states it does happen to men as well, but rarely. My old gym partner has MPB very bad. It bothers him so bad, he wears a hat 99.9% of the time. At his wedding all the wedding party had MLB Hats on. Was pretty cool to see actually.

I was being sarcastic with my last comment. :)

I understand it happens more to women. I'm not saying my HL is 100% due to low iron of course, that would be silly. I'm saying, it's not helping things that's for sure!

Can a low ferritin be associated
with hair loss as a part of generalized malnutrion I suspect so just like a "low Vitamin C" in Scurvy patients or the low protein intake in those with Kwashiokor may develop hair loss.

However these factors are NOT primarily responsible for MPB, an ailment which is mediated thru the interplay of the androgen receptor and GENETICS.

I suppose the proof lies in the pudding and to that end how many HT specialists (whatever that is) perform an serum ferritin level, as a means of risk stratification, NONE THAT IM AWARE OF and that includes the premier US HT facility Bosley.

How ironic the OP asked a question he "already knows the answer to", what a farce.

As I've quoted on many occasion; "some folk ya just can't help, and that's the way they wants it so they gets it"

premier US HT facility Bosley - lololol. Is this where you got your HT?

No one is saying the cause of MPB is due to low ferritin levels.

Everything you're saying while trying to sound as smart as you can, everyone already knows and no one is trying to refute.

Please tell me you're not a real Doctor?

@Dr JIM I do understand your want for studies to show proof. That's why I stated: For what it's worth. I'm happy my family handed down great genetics. At 91, my Grandfather still had a full head of hair!

You might want to investigate
Mr Kingsley's credentials bc he's nothing more than another UK based snake oil salesman, and "hair specialist" who makes a living by selling "his supplements" ......... TO SUCKERS!

Just one of MANY reasons if one wants to know the facts on a scientific basis, blog posts are best avoided IME.

@Dr JIM I don't know who the guy is to be honest. As I stated, for what it's worth. If we're going to say he wrote that to push his snake oil, let's be 100% honest with studies. Most of the time it's funded by pharmaceutical company's wanting to push their snake oil. Some good, some bad, but at the end of the day, arent many studies paid for by a company wanting to get their products on the shelf? Not saying you do this by the way!:)

Dude.. please tell me this guy is not an actual doctor?

Jesus Christ...

Hello Bozo this is an AAS forum and NOT some physicians office, and to equate the two as a point of contention is absolutely ludicrous!

"An appointment", dream on bc, not even double D man boobs would those of your ilk be granted access to even the parking lot, lol.

You've "proven" TWO things since arriving on Meso.

The first being youre damn sure NOT "Shredded" and the second, you're just another bro-scientist who's only capable of spewing BULLSHIT.

Although the genetics of MPB is poly-genetic, it's penetrance is more likely to be expressed phenotypically thru YOUR mothers FATHER.

So, if your moms father has/had a "full set of hair", chances are so will you :)

Every male, on both sides have full heads of hair. I actually get mine thinned out at my barber!

@Dr JIM I haven't been on them long enough to give an honest opinion on hair loss. I can say I was either shedding more hair, or it was breaking shortly before I started TRT. After starting TRT, the "shedding" has tappered down. Can't remember where, but I read loosing hair can be a sign of Low T? Again, might have been an ad in a magazine I read it in? Defnately wasn't from any medical study. My Ex-Wife :D has easy access to studies. She was at Karmonos Institute, now Sequences DNA and does Foresic work and frankly, it scares the shit out me with what can be done with and to DNA. Anyway, she is always willing to bring every study she can find to me. Nothing really pinning, no pun intended, hair loss to low T.

If there was no medical evidence to support it, we sure as hell were not going to subject our son to it! Hence, the divorce!

Is that for me? Sorry Im got used to seeing you write my name when talking at me im confused now. Who are you talking to?

Artistically.. I would rank Rahal higher, yes. Hairline work is also his bread and butter.

That said, I would rank Konior above Rahal at the moment, overall.

Konior is a unique breed of HT surgeon who does almost all the work himself. Has almost zero negative reviews too, like literally none, it's crazy. His work always looks so super super clean, which makes sense since he is doing almost all of the implanting, most of the time.

Konior is more expensive, and his waiting list is like ~1year.

All that said, both are excellent surgeons and if you to lower your hairline, both would be amazing options.

What NW are you currently?

I'm probably a Norwood 1-2 I guess. Dense on top and at back, but receding temples.
I thought the photos on Konior's site looked extremely natural, but I don't know if he uses a flash, so they may not be quite as dense as the photos. I'd like to meet with one or more of his patients before I take the plunge.
The only thing that puts me off Rahal is that he doesn't place the grafts himself.
