It was one of several charges but 1 of 2 that I pled out to. Probation was the punishment. Back in the 90's.

So that would be prior to AAS being re-scheduled? My guess is that now they would treat it like a heroin or coke charge without the option of getting into a diversion program. Depends on the prosecutor, really.
Even prior to rescheduling people went to jail for it. Duchaine did at least twice prior to steroids being criminalized.
They simply charged him with other shit instead (like defrauding the consumer/FDA with labeling).
There are enough laws on the books that if you come to LE attention and they want you they will get you.
Yes, at the federal level this goes with anything. It's called "big brother".

Not personally. (Knock on wood). but a friend of mine got caught with a few vials in his car. And also some extasy. he did 9 months or so and was deported back to Brazil from the US. took him awhile before they would let him come back.
Yeah, but that is illegal now. Although I don't know if it's enforced in UK.
