By the way, you know what I find really ironic about african americans. They get extremely offended if someone who is not black calls them or even uses the word nigga. They claim this word as their own and are proud of that. This is funny since its a word derived by white people and mainly used in a derogatory manner.
As an example, people were more outraged that Kramer used the word nigger over and over than what he said, that back in the day black people would be hanging with a fork up their ass. I find the latter to be much worse as it might represent actual ideological sentiment, rather than just a derogatory word used cause he was pissed.

Ok, I understand that we want to have a relatively calm and hate free board so I understand the desire to keep topics calm and rational and to not allow people to continually make extreme racist comments. That all makes sense.

What I want to know is how most people here feel about race issues. As an example...I consider a person who regards all people of a particular race as inferior or who belittles them solely for thier race, etc as a racist. Would everyone agree on that? Now I'm sure there are KKK members or Nazi's etc etc who have made the exception and slept with or commingled with a member of the inferior race.

So then, what is someone considered if they think only certain members of a race are inferior and give the rest a bad name? As an example....that KKK member (doesn't have to be KKK though...could just be some dumbass, overall wearin, hayseed -- I might consider him to be some piece of white trash, honkey, reneck, ignorant hick and he is inferior to me and gives the majority of my race (yes, I'm white) a bad image. I might also consider a black man who acts the same was as the KKK member or that hayseed and think of him as...*gasp* yes a nigger. People don't like that work but it has the same connotation as callin a white guy a cracker...and I'm just using it as an example here so keep yer panties on people. Anyway, if I consider some whites as crackers and white trash, but regard whites in general as decent people, am I a racist? On that same note, just because I consider certain blacks to be niggers am I racist? What about some of the hispanic gang members...if they're spics am I a racist?

I just want to know at what point do you guys consider a person to become racist. Just making racist style remarks...does that make them racist? Not coming to anyone's defense...just curious cause I see a LOT of double standards from some people on here and wanted to know how they really felt.

Back to the original qustion. Race is socially constructed, our personal lives and geographic locations influence that. We all tend to filter out the folks we will and will not attempt to befriend based on experience. I'm not going to lie I discriminate against thuggish looking individuals and even fat people but then again there is an acception to everything. In regards to the terms used, personally I feel they are derogatory towards each race as a whole rather than the individual.
