drop the var!Dredging up an old thread here. My last bloods, HDL was 15, LDL about 175. Been fighting this shit for years. So, for 2 months, took fish oils, citrus bergamot, niacin, cardio 5x/week, cut bodyfat to under 12%. Got bloods last week, HDL up to 40, LDL fucking 250!!!! So, I quit trying to avoid statins and agreed to rosuvastatin as I started taking anavar 25mg/day to help recover from pretty serious rotator cuff/labrum surgery. This has to be genetic and beyond the scope of supplements.
I'm late on the response on this, but it's crazy how alcohol can help HDL so much. I wonder if my near abstinence from alcohol is better or worse for the ole' ticker in the long run. I can say though that my heart feels great. When I was say 20, well before any steroids, and my HDL was probably 50 or more, but my overal diet was shit, when I would run or anything, my heart would always be the thing that told me to slow down, not my muscles. Now, at 36, with an HDL at 21 (fuck!?), my heart feels outstanding when I workout/do cardioRoughly this. I have hdl 30, but ldl 80, tg 45 so my cards said I’m fine. One exception to above if yes to alcohol, 2 drinks a day, I do 2 glasses of Pinot and it has helped
TLDR: From my understanding hdl does not matter if ldl is below 50.
Very likely but I was just below 50 on only 40mg telmisartan. This is likely but quite rare. Most people require pharmaceutical intervention to get below 50.
