HDL fight

Wats Ur hdl right now than?
Meybe its related with high stress, stimulants, 60% of time with calorie deficit (since 2015?) and metabolic syndrome caused by cortisol etc. Making me mad how ppl can go 1g Tren and got good lipid profile :-/

Dredging up an old thread here. My last bloods, HDL was 15, LDL about 175. Been fighting this shit for years. So, for 2 months, took fish oils, citrus bergamot, niacin, cardio 5x/week, cut bodyfat to under 12%. Got bloods last week, HDL up to 40, LDL fucking 250!!!! So, I quit trying to avoid statins and agreed to rosuvastatin as I started taking anavar 25mg/day to help recover from pretty serious rotator cuff/labrum surgery. This has to be genetic and beyond the scope of supplements.

drop the var!

Crestor will help

Roughly this. I have hdl 30, but ldl 80, tg 45 so my cards said I’m fine. One exception to above if yes to alcohol, 2 drinks a day, I do 2 glasses of Pinot and it has helped
I'm late on the response on this, but it's crazy how alcohol can help HDL so much. I wonder if my near abstinence from alcohol is better or worse for the ole' ticker in the long run. I can say though that my heart feels great. When I was say 20, well before any steroids, and my HDL was probably 50 or more, but my overal diet was shit, when I would run or anything, my heart would always be the thing that told me to slow down, not my muscles. Now, at 36, with an HDL at 21 (fuck!?), my heart feels outstanding when I workout/do cardio

What is your ldl? If you ldl is below 50 then hdl does not matter imo.

After doing a lot of research on lipid levels the conclusion I came to is the following. I also confirmed this with my cardiologist a few days ago.

Ldl is bad cholesterol that can build up in your body. This build up is known as plaque which is what leads to health problems like heart disease and stroke. With this is mind the only reason ldl is bad is because it gets converted to plaque. If it did not have the potential to turn into plaque, then ldl would not matter.

Hdl is good cholesterol but all it does is take the ldl and send it to the liver. The liver then flushes the ldl from you body. So hdl is basically a transporter and the liver is what does the job of removing the ldl.

Recent publications suggest that plaque stabilization occurs when LDL-C is below 70 mg/dL, but plaque regression will not occur until LDL is below 50 mg/dL. Regression means a return to a former or less developed state. So, if ldl is below 50 it would make sense that it cannot turn into plaque. And if it cannot turn into plaque then there is no problem with cholesterol levels meaning that hdl in theory does not matter.

TLDR: From my understanding hdl does not matter if ldl is below 50.
