I cant believe it. I just incorporated with some colleagues to go into the private sector, so we were looking into a small group health insurance plan. Me and two of my partners were denied health insurance based on our height and weight. They placed me in the morbidly obese category, ignoring BMI. I train hard; of course I am bigger than average but I also do cardio 3x per week while the majority of fat America sits on the couch and watches Friends and must see TV.

I have to lose weight for life ins. due to the rediculous BMI. I can only be 185 at 5'8 or 5'9.

I hear ya brother- For the first time I feel fat. I may resort to acting like my girl, "Do these pants make my butt look big"?

It's BS about your Insurance policy. Insurance companys screw everyone over, plus it doesn't help that the majority of Americans are fat lazy bastards that get heart disease at an early age and make our insurance costs go through the roof!!

Hly Shit! I can't believe that the insurance company is sticking to numbers without having a look at you first.

Then again, I can-- insurance is built on fear and should have been removed a long time ago (and things that it covers made cheaper).

So I guess Ronnie Coleman probably can't get insurance either. Maybe they can count him as 2 different people? Imagine that, a body so big that it requires 2 different plans. Doctors fix only one side of him later telling him that the other side was not approved. lol!

Rules are made to be bent!

lol I wouldnt insure ronnie coleman either :)

as for the BMI it is retarded. It doesnt factor in muscle mass at all. Stupid on the ins. co's part. They should have premiums based on bf%. Hell the BMI doesnt classify you as obese unless you are muscular or around 25% bf lol. NOt sure of the number but it has to be around that.
