i can't seem to get my delts to come out....i want to see the seperation between my delts and my triceps....u know the line...lol....anyways here is my workout for shoulders
barbell press front 4x8
upright rows 4x8
smith machine press behind head 4x8
side laterals 4x8
front raises 4x8

hate to sound like an echo but 'lower your bodyfat'. i saw your pic and while you are very thick you are also carrying quite a bit of bodyfat. tighten up your diet, try some clen and t3 cycles. you'd look killer if you dropped down to, say, 11-12% bf. :D

Drop the behind the head press's really not good for you. Sub with ISO Military machine or something, Have yet to see your pic but I'll jump on the BF train.

Lose some BF! :)

thats what i was wondering.. how does that workout look though?
I think that 20 sets (160 reps) for shoulders is way overkill. Drop the behind the neck press and side laterals.

Besides these guys rightly saying BF is the problem, I gotta remind you that muscle shape is purely genetic, nothing you can do about it. I got lucky and have cannonball delts, but I dont' work them seperately (okay, I'll get in trouble with Bob here, but I do 4 sets of lateral raises, once a week, seems to work for me, otherwise my side delts get nada and look 'flat' compared to huge front and rear muscles).

I just do benches and back, no presses at all (hurts my shoulders). You get what you get genetically, so if you look at the muscle shape, and if you work it that hard, I gotta say there isn't anything at all you can do except lose weight. You are already working them way too hard if you ask me... geez that's a lot of shoulder work.

Maybe if you lay off, they will grow more... dunno, even volume of training can be genetic. I got a buddy that I swear is overtraining, but he keeps getting stronger, so who am I to judge.

Mike Christiansen, a bodybuilder a while back, said he couldn't even do shoulder work, because they grew so huge if he did. It's mostly genetic, and you've done half the work by lifting, now you gotta do the hard part and lose the weight.

If you are insane, there is some oil you can buy that you can inject into your muscles to make them larger for a few months. I saw that stuff and laughed my ass off. Fake muscles are finally here. Sheesh.

yeah that pic was last april... i have since then dropped down about 21 lbs......now at 211 and 14 percent i want to get down to 200 or 195.......that is why im debating on whether to do a cutting cycle for my first or just a lean hard mass cycle for my first......

Like Bob said, simply drop some bf. I just went on an extreme bf loss diet, and have lost 25 lbs in the last 5 weeks. I was wanting to see that muscular separation too. Low and behold, that's all it took. My delts are now very separated from the tris. It was hard as hell, but worth it.

Alot of cardio (on ephedrine/clen), lowered calories, and high protein/low to moderate carbs did it.

Also, like he said, your shoulder training volume is way too high IMO. They are relatively small muscles, and don't need 20 sets. I only do about 6 to 8 sets for delts.

5 lbs a week? Geez, that seems like a lot. Did your strength go down a lot? I always thought anything over 3 a week was muscle loss, but that may be on normal people who don't carry around 50 extra lbs of pure muscle that can burn tons of calories.

Yes, 5 lbs a week, which surprised me too. I never planned on losing a certain amount in any given time period. I has just happened at that rate.

The only place that has suffered some muscle loss is my thighs. But that is a scarifice I was willing to take, because that waist and chest fat was nasty, and I was sick of it. I knew from the start that my thighs would shrink some, so I'm not too disappointed in that. Hopefully they will gradually come back.

As far as everywhere else, I have lost no noticeable amount of muscle. I've been on a small cycle of Dbol at 50mg/day and EQ at 800mg/week throughout this to try and at least maintain muscle, and it seems to be working. I have not only not lost strength, but have gained it in just about all bodyparts, even the thighs, surprisingly. But I haven't gained any muscle, only maintained it, which was expected.

At the start I weighed 255, now I'm at 230. I'm 6' tall.

$.02; Wow, you're killing yourself with that many sets IMHO. Years ago I raised intencity/frequency and lowered volume. I blew up and gained 14 lbs lean in 90 days and my arms gained an inch! From then on I've always made good/steady progress.

Started at 180 lbs 5' 10.5"
Now 235lbs.

Furthermore, I never get above 15% bf, even when I bulk. I guess everyone is different however?

Good luck bro!

thanks dart.....im cutting it back starting on this coming up monday.....

when doing shoulder press i stick specifically with dumbells...
my routine is as follows (changing slightly periodically)

military dumbell press (palms forward) 4X6
military dumbell press (palms in) 2X8
reverse pec dec 3X6
front raises 2X6, 2X? (drop sets)
side raises 2X6, 2X? (drop sets)

and my shoulders are my strongest muscle group and always have been
