Help with gaining weight

I was wondering if anyone could give me a good tip on what supplements to use when trying to gain weight.
Im already using several different supplements, but I'd like to ask you guys what the best combination is when trying to bulk up.

Regards, Geilos.

The best supplement for gaining weight is food and lots of it. I'm not saying that to be silly or anything. It's the truth.

Supplements are just that; supplements. They are used to supplement as sound diet. All the supplements in the world aren't going to do shit if you don't have a good diet in place.

If you want to be really honest about it, almost all the supplements in the world don't do shit anyway.

i like to use tricks like making snadwhiches with poptarts, cheese on everything.
honestly i set my alarm and eat every 3-5 hours, it kills my sleeping but you really put on weight, also get a fat friend and eat with him, or 2 friends and eat with both of them

Grizz is right on the money. Most supplements suck and are a total waste of money. And the best thing to use for gaining weight is called the grocery store. Or better yet, buy your food in bulk at Sams Club or Costco or whatever youve got around you. Red meat, chicken, eggs, milk. Those right there will help you grow.

BTW, how much do you weigh, whats your bodyfat %, how long you been lifting for?

Appreciate the replies.
I know that eating is the one good way to gain weight, but Im at a point where it would be very nice to use some functional supplements to get that little extra tweek.

I live in Scandinavia, so if anybody knew of some good products they sell here - it would be much appreciated.

I weigh about 190 pounds, and have been lifting for about 6 years. Both to gain weight, but for a long time I've focused on getting lean. The last couple of months, I decided to try to gain a lot of weight, and that's what Im doing now.
Keep in mind that I'm not using any form of juice, so my progress may be a little slow in the beginning ;)

Do you keep track of how many calories youre eating? And how much carbs, pro, and fat? If so, how much?

I don't meassure calories, fat or protein, but I try to go by the 40-40-20 % rule.

But here's basicaly what I eat:

Morning:
Protein shake, Creatine, different sandwiches with peanutbutter and cheese (not in the same sandwich ;) )

Second meal of the day:
Bread with chicken, different fruits and vegetables

Third meal:
More sandwiches, lots of fibers, Protein shake, three cans of tuna fish

Fourth meal:
Lots of meat with either potatoes, rice or pasta. I prefer pasta. And with that, I eat a hell of a lot of vegetables.

Fifth meal:
Differs very much from day to day, really could be anything

Sixth meal: Protein Shake

Of course, this is not exactly a bulking diet, and my intake on creatine differs from a training day.

Any suggestions regarding a new bulking diet would also be greatly appreciated.
Including comments on my present daily intake of food.

1. Get a food counter book or use an online resource
2. Weigh everything you eat for a few days
3. Figure out how much you are eating
4. Adjust based on real world weight gain. If you're natural, shoot for maybe 1 lb/week weight gain and most of it should be muscle. If yo'ure juicing, well, fuck if I know, maybe double that.

Don't expect folks on the forum to do your math for you, you lazy sack of shit.

Or you could just eat your fat friend :D

40% of your calories from protein, 40% from carbs, 20% from fats.

If you eat 4000/day, that's 1600 in protein, 1600 in carbs and 800 in fat.

That's 400 grams protein, 400 grams carbs, and roughly 90 grams of fat.

Get it?

LOTS of protein powder is your friend.
So is working up tp 12+tb of olive/flax oil.
then it depends on your personal metaband structure.peace

I have a better idea. Does anyone eat solid food any more these days? You can't go wrong getting your protein from whole foods. The powders are nice and cute and all, but not as good as whole foods. 12+ Tbsp of olive oil would completely ruin a 40/40/20 split.

Yeah I love eating whole foods but I also know that when I worked, I would have to carry around a small cooler for all my food to work, it took too long to actually eat it and food prep was a pain. Shakes are fast and easy and then eat real at home. Might not be the best way but sometimes you have to make due.

I think where most people go wrong with their intention of gaining weight is to not focus on diet. You could workout 2 hours per day for a year while maintaining a poor diet and your results will be minimal. Consume enough protein and carbs and workout like a bitch and you will gain.
