To each his own. From the video of you will see that running barefoot creates less force from impact to the body than running with shoes with support. Now if you have bad feet than I can agree. I used vibram 5 fingers when I was in service to run. And definitely felt better once you change your gait. Most people tend to over reach when running. Forcing the feet to strike heel first instead of striking with the forefoot first. Much more stress on the body being a heel striker.
I wouldn't take one video and used it as proof that running barefoot is better then wearing shoes. On the video, you can clearly see that the test subject w/o shoes was running gently to avoid harsh impact on his bare feet. Heck, even the Tarahumara had a makeshift/McGyver type of sandals to help their feet. But like you said, to each his own. I ran couple of marathon and seeing folks running bare foot.. That in my book is one badass mutherfuker!
