Here it comes, fuel crisis is going to cascade to other sectors

And this is before deductions, so you can see how my numbers of 15-17% are pretty accurate (and supported by the IRS numbers, anyway).

I would imagine that people were relatively happy pre-1900s when income taxes were only stolen on an irregular basis and for big things like the Civil War.

Yes, the difference between marginal tax rate and effective tax rate...but you guys are mentioning fed only. Is everybody forgetting about state here?

Not forgetting, just ignoring for this duscussion. From what you said, Hogg, CA has high tax rates. I just looked up the rates for my state and the highest rate (about $55k+) is 9%.

I just checked down the list and my state is about tied as the highest marginal state income tax.

And of course let us not forget the 7.65% combined of FICA and medicare. FICA caps out at $ 5,390/yr I believe. I'm way ahead on FICA already as a result of a rather healthy bonus so I'll be looking forward to seeing that pig drop out. Medicare never caps out.....you pay points on every dollar.

FICA is a scam since the employer contribution is equal to the employee.....I'd love to opt out of Social Security. I could do a lot more with that money than the fed can.

I feel sorry for people who are self employed. They pick up the entire 15.3% of fica and medicaire as well as a 5% self-employment tax and still pay FIT and SIT on top of it.....God bless write-offs I suppose but the reality is, you have to spend the cash, it does not aggregate in a pot for you to spend later. Between depreciation and all of the other accounting quirks, I suppose they do alright...still it just seems unfair.

Oh, BTW, dont know if you guys know this about FICA and medicare but they start taking the deduction on every penny of wage ahead of all other deductions. In other words, lets say you are not taking a paycheck for x weeks in order to max out your 401k early in the year so that you can invest the monies and have a full 3 quarters of growth on your 2004 contributions. FICA/MC is taken ahead of the deduction so if you make $ 1000 a week in gross wages, the government takes the $ 75 from you and $ 75 from your employer off the top and your 401k contribution is $ 925, not a grand.....you see.......it is not like you can totally reduce your income by 13K per year; between you and your employer, the government still takes their 15.3% right off the top.

Fuckers......dirty, caniving, money-grubbing,scandalous fuckers.....and I love how the IRS is stepping up audits of the 6 figure plus wage earners to make sure they pay what they owe....hah! What they owe....as though the system is fair......how about the family of 15 mexicans living under one roof with the old lady claiming all the kids as dependents while they are out working cash....seems to me I see enough expeditions and tahoes in the hood riding on 20s to make me suspect that something is amiss. Food stamps, welfare, entitlements.....what a joke.

The best candidates for the presidency would be Allen Greenspan or Warren Buffett in my honest opinion. Unfortunately, neither have the inclination to become president.

Hmm, the first Jewish president. I could go for that. Either, IMO, would be incredible as long as they had some cooperation from Congress. But I would lean more towards Greenspan than Buffett.

You would see some real changes in corporate governance standards and GAAP if Buffett took the helm....and probably a big reduction in the size of government as well. At least one dollar of growth for every one dollar of retained earnings....the government cannot do it.

You guys might not beleive me but in the early eighties there was a group called " The Sons of Liberty" ........none of them paid any taxes......claimed exempt..........they got caught eventually..........but it came out in court that if they had just 300,000 more people join them the IRS would have broke!!!! They weren't the only group doing that , thats why it was so close to working!

Ms. Hogg has a friend whose acquaintance had not paid taxes in 3 or 4 years.....her apartment in Irvine was raided by federal agents with guns drawn and they hauled her to the clink......she's up the proverbial creek without a paddle right now.

They didn't do that to these guys...........wanted them to keep working to pay their back taxes..............The technicality(spelling) they used was Wages are worked for and Income is interest, dividends etc. So some of the guys paid a little and would actually file.........think that is why the book wasn't thrown at them.

Heres the guy, or one of the guys, behind that movement. http://www.paynoincometax.com/

IIRC, this guy was arrested earlier this year for tax evasion. The Supreme Court has also ruled that income taxes are not optional, as the guy contends. Many of his followers have also been arrested.

Preach on, brother Hogg!

Screw Grizzly for emporer, I say Hogg for President!

Well, now we see whose head is going to roll first. ;) Do you like the proper use of "whose"?

Anyhow, how about Hogg for Emperor? The President can't do shit, as you, yourself, have said, Bob. Since Hogg is the economic master up and around this boy(again, ode to tank) he would be a good choice for supreme leader of the US.

How about, Grizzly for vice-emperor? :D

LOL.....I have not the skills to reside in that seat but thank you for the kind words grizz. You do not want a person like me making diplomacy decisions.....in my opinion, nuclear weapons are an attractive, low-cost solution to many of the country's current problems :D

Youve got my vote!

So under Hogg/Grizzly we should expect:
income tax cuts
closed borders
elimination of welfare
90% reduction of SS
Elimination of foreign aid
legalization of AAS

Definitely NO foreign aid. Fuck those faggots!

I don't know about closed boarders. I like foreign people...as long as they're not brown ;)
