High Intensity Training

Sweet. I couldn't have said it better. I have been training HIT under the Arthur Jones / Mentzer principles for the last year. I have never grown anywhere like I am now. I hadn't gained a pound in a long time but started HIT last year. I put on about 40lb of LBM training only twice a week. I would be curious to hear other peoples HIT routines.

Well I HIT the wife, and sometimes Grizz, when i'm in the mood i'll HIT SOLO.

anywho I run HIIT for cardio thats about it......

I wouldnt train HIT even if it were the only program available. BTW, Mentzer was seriously f*cked in the head.

Curious as to why. Viator, Sergio, Yates, and both Mentzers had excellent results with it. What do you find to be it's downfalls. I have been training HIT only for the last year with the best results I have ever had. I am thinking about throwing in some High Volume to switch things up for a while.

I can honestly say that I have never grown anywhere near as much as I did over the last year while training HIT. I will say that my gains have stopped, but I have also not been eating correctly either. I am thinking about throwing in some regular old High Volume Training to switch things up a bit. Here is an example of a current workout. I usually complete this without any rests between sets. Every set is taken to complete momentary muscle failure. To me this means that not even an inch of movement is still possible.

1. Leg Press
2. Negative Chins with weight
3. Negative Dips with weight
4. Leg Press
5. Negative Chins with weight
6. Leg Press
7. Negative Dips
8. Leg Press
9. Negative Dips with Weight, drop weight to 0 and continue to failure again.
10.Negative Chins with Weight, drop the weight to 0 and continue to failure again.

This workout sounded completely nuts when I first heard about it, but the guy that is training me trained Arnonld, Viator, Sergio, Mentzer and a lot of the other greats. He is about 60 years old and still squats 450 for reps so I listened. I gained 20lbs in two months by only doing this workout twice a week and nothing else. I thought you guys would enjoy hearing about it since it is so bizzarre. I also figured it would spark some good debates. Have at it.
