Hip Hop / Rap Thread

I will say if you like outkast you'd probably like tribe called Quest. If you haven't already heard them. 90's best hip hop

Microphone check one two what is this, the five foot assassin with the rough neck business. I get down on some tribe, I saw them a few years ago it was a blast. Thanks bro yeah but yea looking for some current/recent stuff, that's where I'm out of touch. I got the 90s and early 2000s on lock haha

Haha Nice, I figured you must have listened to them. I also was fortunate enough to see them preform many moons ago :D As for new stuff, no one really can compare to the classic groups from the 90's. Especially Outkast imo :)

I listen to the trashiest, shittiest most mainstream hip hop/rap, especially when working out (Drake, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott etc) but damn if this isn't my favorite track of all time:

Threw on atliens on my way home today. Can someone recommend something of similar style, but new?
I was never really a fan of outkast... probably Kendrick Lamar is closest in skill and style. Don't really like him either.

Andre had a top five flow but tried WAY too hard to be different... you ain't different if you have to try, and that whole expand your mind thing was always bullshit to me. Common too- he can flow, but ain't nobody hood bumpin that shit. Never heard a dope boy bumpin common- maybe nas, never common.

Give me that ig'nant shit. Jada, pun, banks, fab- the older crews like mobb deep, CNN, big noyd, cormega, dmx and the flashes like 50, Jay had his time- before blueprint. I always felt everything after blueprint was whack as fuck and Jay always got WAY more credit than he deserved.

Kevin gates is the shit. He has all the street activity of any of the worst and the brains- I grew up HATING anything south of new York but right now gates has that new fire and ti is still droppin that hot shit.

That new drake has some sick tracks on it. .. exclusive iTunes right now (or bittorrent if you are technologically inclined) and you tube is taking them down faster than they can put tracks up... but Views is the record and Still Here and Controlla are the ish... one dance I'm sure errryone already heard. Pop style is aiiight too.
