I’ve posted my experiences in another thread but figured I’d make a dedicated post about it here.
I used to have a fairly hairy back. It wasn’t like those guys who look like someone sewed a pelt on them, but it was bad enough that I was embarrassed to walk around shirtless. My shoulders were also nasty and hairy. So about 2 years ago I bought a laser hair removal package off of Groupon and got 8 sessions for under $500. At the end of the 8th session, most of my back hair was gone, but I still had a few small patches here and there. Unfortunately my shoulder hair results weren’t as good.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I had done my research on the Tria home laser and the Remington iLight Pro. All of the reviews stated the iLight Pro was the best. The Tria home laser system brand new is around $400 and the iLight Pro is similar in cost. So being the frugal person I am, I went to a website called Mercari and signed up. I found a “like new condition” iLight for $60! In fact, you can easily get both a Tria and an iLight off of Mercari for the price of or even less than one brand new. The iLight also came with 4 replacement bulbs.
My wife shaved the areas where the hairs were (shave - do NOT wax or pluck) and got to zapping. Two weeks later, my back is completely hairless and the hair on my shoulders is greatly diminished.
I know that the laser package got me the most results, but you can start with the iLight, but it will take a lot longer, since the light is small and professional lasers are much bigger.
All in all, I’m completely satisfied. I’m sure I’ve left some things out, so feel free to ask.
