Thanks for the information. I did not know that you could call the health department. As far as hospitals and labs, they ALL have disposal programs in place. It is the law and they do get inspected for it. Trust me, our lab gets inspected at least twice a year on disposal procedures.

Check with your local health department and ask if you can drop off used needles, most all will accept and some will even give you new one's for free (Canada anyways).
If thats not your style then maybe a local hospital or pharmacy will take them, most have disposal programs in place.
Just don't throw them in the trash, chit happens and if I had kids I wouldn't want them picking up something like that.
Be responsible its in everyones best interest to keep these things out of the negative public spotlight.
