I just went to the ortho yesterday because of my knee pain, which started due to trying to lift too much on a leg press. It pretty much just hurts when pressure is applied, i.e. running, going up or down stairs, squatting, etc. He checked it out, and said it's just an overuse injury that can bother me for the rest of my life. He said there is a fine line in joint and bone aches, people who are underactive will get this kind of pain because they don't move a lot. Then there are the overactive people who get the same pain, because they do too much. He said that fine line in the middle, where people are usually fine.
He said not to wrap the knees, that's a simple fix. If I can't lift the weight without something or someone assisting me, I need to build up muscle strength more so that I can. Otherwise injuries can occur. Pretty much spent a lot of money for him to tell me that I just need to be more careful, and now that knee will always have a tendancy to be injured. He said if it ever gets bad enough to where I can't do "normal" things without being in absolute pain, then he'll go in and fix it. For now, I guess just deal with it.
That was irritating, I wonder if he just didn't want to spend anymore time with me, or what. It's painful, I have a goal, and I get pissed off! Hopefully it'll go away eventually.
