How can you get to 80 push ups in two minutes?

If you hit a plateau, you gotta manipulate a stressor or improve recovery. Try taking a break — you may not recovering from the stress yet, so take a week away. If that doesn’t work, try adding some strength work, so what each individual push-up is easier… bench presses in the 3-5 rep range that are heavy enough that you can’t go past 5 or so sets.

5 sets in a reverse taper 3 days a week with an AMRAP at the end Basically.

Can give it a go following the prescribed rep schemes but if I get to 100 in six MONTHS I will be very surprised.

My bench is only about 1.1x body weight. Am I just too weak/small for this one?
Not bagging on you. Just honesty here. You complain too much. Just go do it.

Tried the prescribed rep schemes in 100 push up challenge but I just regress from workout to workout as usual. Had to repeat the first workout of week 3 but instead of getting 20 in the last set as I did the first time I only got 11.

I don’t understand how such a quick progression is even meant to be possible. It takes me weeks or even months to make even tiny 1-2% incremental progress and if I’m at all off with my diet or I skip some workouts it’ll fall back 10% easily in a matter of days.

I could be wrong but you may not be pushing as hard as you think you are. Push-ups till failure repeatedly SHOULD be very uncomfortable and you will likely be sore after. You’ll then have to do it all over again through the soreness in order to improve

This is why not everyone is able to be a special operator, elite athlete, MMA pro, etc.

Some people have the mental aptitude and force of will… some people don’t. All routines listed here will get you to your very _modest and moderate goal_.

The difference is you.

You cannot teach those factors. Spartan Agoge was developed to weed those out who are unwilling or mentally incapable.

Hundreds of thousands of years have taught us this fact.

One last comment and I’m out.

Make sure you aren’t holding yourself back with a lack of eating. Your body cannot overcome that deficit long.

Would be a shame if you were holding yours back with something so simple.

The post above reminded me- I was training so much and so hard for endurance and calisthenics at that time that I literally added an entire family size bag of pretzels and black bean dip to my daily food intake (if you can’t tell, I LOVE pretzels) just so that I would be able to MAINTAIN my weight while training. This was an additional 1800 calories a day. My diet was on point besides the addition of the pretzels for extra calories

Bro thats the easiest way to hit 100.
Anybody here on Anabolic's should be able to do 30-40 pushups so they would start somewhere around week 4-6 of the program.
If you cant progress with that you are better of doing chess or play video games it is just not for you.
Sorry but have to be honest here you are waisting your time it wont happen for you.

30-40 push-ups is a normal number for even natural guys that are minimally trained from what I’ve seen. Being enhanced I’d expect most guys that aren’t too fat to be able to hit at least 50 in a minute

100 pushups in one go are easy if you train for it.
Its just a thing most muscles are not used to.
To really asses ones fitness do legionnaire pushups .
Without stoping do one pushup followed by one squat .
Two pushups two squats and so on without pausing .
Most i did was 27 .
This is good to build cardio also you sweat a lot.
