Do oral AAS such as Anavar affect the equilibrium constant or only the levels of SHBG? For example, does Anavar change the equilibrium such that you can have higher Free T as a % of TT? Or does it only lower SHBG levels but the Free T as a % of TT remains the same?

1. Oxandrolone drops SHBG.

2. Lower SHBG ----> Lower TT

3. FT stays the same (same Test dosage on TRT)

4. Equilibrium constant unchanged

5. Lower TT / same FT ----> % FT = FT/TT goes up

Hence, oxandrolone increases percentage FT not FT itself...

I think I'm getting confused because you also said this:

SHBG is not directly involved with elimination (aka clearance) of free Testosterone.

Which I am guessing was a typo.

But none of that changes the fact that I linked a variety of studies and medical recommendation texts that specifically talk about lower SHBG resulting lower totals.

There's also plenty talking about how SHBG bound test has a slower clearance rate, e.g.

Edit: I've read through your post a few times and while I can follow the math and argument, it does seem to directly contradict significant quantities of other documentation. I'll say you've moved me to 'on the fence' so I'll not make an argument one way or the other for now, and that a control is needed for us to have any real idea here for the person in question.

Is that not the number 23? Does it not say the reference range is less than or equal to 29? Is the number 23 not less than or equal to the number 29?

My E2 was 15.5 a couple months ago before hopping on TRT. I was experiencing bad joint pain in every joint of my body. Joints that have never hurt before. I felt like arthritis was setting in by the day. The reference range was 8-35. I was double the bottom limit but definitely experiencing low estrogen symptoms. The reference range on test is down to 264, so hardly any of us would actually qualify for TRT based on reference range alone.
