How do you stand the taste/smell of arginine/citrulline base?

I have troubles downing 10g of citrulline base + 5g of arginine, because of the smell/taste.
It smells like cum or pyrovalerones if you ever did these.

I just sorta puked and had to swallow it again, because of the benefit to pump.

How do you get it down and keep it down?
 
in protein shake with creatine and other powdery stuff. or with preworkout if you use that stuff. its not pleasent but tolerable.

or maybe with some kind of fruit juice of soomething like that? i drink only water or water with lemon so i havent tried that but should work.

I have citrulline malate (not base, as you say) and it does not have that problem.
Arginine I had it in caps, never raws.
But like Baba says, if you drink it with something with a strong flavour, would it still be the case?

I'm telling you, it's hard to mask it but I think whey is a pretty good option. I'm currently not using whey but had great success today with a straw, that I put deep into my mouth, so the liquid doesn't touch the tongue, or only a very little. When Whey is back on the menu, I might try that.

Put it in your Orange juice the sour taste is Malic acid. Pure citrulline would not be sour.

yeah I heard it could be due to the pH of both citrulline base and arginine, it might be related to the basic nature. Logically something acidic should neutralize the taste.

No no I mean did you buy pure citrulline or citrulline malate

yeah this time it was the base, because it has more elemental citrulline, compared to the only like 2/3 in the malate version. But next time I will go with malate again, for sure.

No you don’t want citrulline-malate if you don’t like sour

Pure citrulline has no flavor like creatine
it’s called L-citrulline
Maybe tastes like watermelon but not to much sweet just a hint but definitely ZERO sour

To my understanding there is L-Citrulline (base) available, which is the pure citrulline your body can use and citrulline malate, which is citrulline bound to malic acid, which has their own additional benefits in energy production. Citrl-Malate only has like 66% citrulline but additionally 33% malic. I think you would have to test for yourself which of the 2 provides better workouts / pump.

I don't really have a problem with sour stuff, it's more the smell of cum that irritates me a lot. Have you smelled pure arginine or citrulline? pure, not a blend with additives. It's horrible for me.

Now the malate form was really okay taste wise. I think it's because of the added acid which removes the cum smell that allegedly comes from the basic pH of it.

Any other NO or pump boosters you like, or do you prefer citrulline?

That's different. Two different things. Red light doesn't disrupt circadian rhythms. Kinda like blue blockers while you're on your computer or smart phone at night. Which everyone should be doing for sleep hygiene.

Two different things.

For red light bulbs, like for your bedroom or bathroom, anything on Amazon or your local hardware store will do. Old school random incandescent red or amber bulbs. Cheap and easy. This is for circadian rhythms [to use at night].

Infrared light panels are more expensive and time consuming (you relax in front of them for like 10-20 minutes or more). MitoRED, PlatinumLED, Joovv, etc. This is for nitric oxide and potentially other things like tissue healing.

I found a tastes PW I like and added it with creatine, glutamaie and use the smallest amount of water for to mix enough to drink. Then drink .5L right over the top of it. Mostly tastes like lemon because of the citrulline and sweet tea PW.

It depends on your budget, but I think investing any money into a setup is a good starting point. It doesn't really get cheaper with the more expensive setups (power / USD doesn't improve much).

Phototherapy is the keyword you wanna research, there are many studies about how it helps with many diseases including wound healing, skin conditions, sleep disorders, depression, pain relief, NO, immune system and even cancer.

IF you have the disposable money I'd say go for it.
