How long should you wait before opening a package?

Other posts have advised not opening delivered packages immediately for safety... but how many days should you wait to avoid getting busted?

While I do understand the logic, I personally have always opened my packages immediately without issue.

I guess I've missed the posts where people say they wait to open a package. I am opening it immediately so I know for sure that everything is present, accounted for and not broken.

The only time I personally know of LE making a bust with a package it was for some extra stanky Mary Jane. A guy came to the door and said "hey were you expecting a package? This got dropped at my house up the road." When she said yes and took the package they arrested her.

If LE showed up the next day asking for a package you received then just tell them that you didn't know what it was and it was sketchy so you threw it away at a gas station trashcan.

I open it in my driveway so my neighbors know what’s up.

Really, don’t overthink it too much. Take all precautions leading up to it. Don’t use fake name, use secured communication, etc.
