How many calories does the average bodybuilding workout burn?

Im interested in everyones opinion on this, lets say a normal workout 60-90 minutes in average how many calories does it burn?

Lets say 16 sets of chest 4 different exercises
Going to failure on at least 8 of them maybe superset some flys .

9 sets for shoulders 3 for each head doing supersets for 1 set for each head .

6 sets for triceps also with a few supersets
Normal rest periods nothing special how many calories would you say where burnt?
 
More seriously, not much. Leaving aside the effect of higher body mass and such on maintenance calories, the actual act of moving a certain weight from point a to point b does not burn as many calories as one might think, a small fraction of riding your bicycle for the same length of time (60-90 minutes, which could easily be over 1000-1500 calories).

And it's already built into your day. Think about it. You lift, right? You've been lifting for years. Knowing the calorie burn is exactly x is not going to make you any leaner than you are right now.

I was thinking 300-400 cals

That's a lot for 60 minutes or 90 minutes. Assuming one minute to perform, two minutes rest . . . still does not fit in 90 minutes even excluding any warmups.

Warmup included as first sets i go light
I rest about 1 minute on bigger muscles, less on smaller but then i was guessing correctly 300-400 cals?

You're probably not far off.

But leg day is probably a lot more than "arm day" and so on. And guys who rest for 4 minutes between sets are probably burning a lot less than guys who rest less, and I bet Mac11wildcat burns more calories in the gym than you and me put together.

I dont know about that but cant doubt it ass that much muscle needs fuel !!!
This was my workout for today and tying to gage calories as myfitnesspal does not have this option for workouts.
But it does so for cardio as that is on point!
 
If I had to take a guess just from how much I have to adjust my calories to bulk when running intense programs vs. more moderate ones, maybe 2-400 calories?

Not a whole lot in any case. 20 minutes of doing some sort of vigorous cardio does roughly the same thing in my very anecdotal experience. You’d have to absolutely destroy yourself lifting weights to even remotely approach the efficiency of cardio for burning calories.
 
My guess is for the average weight training workout w/o cardio = 750~1000 cals. With cardio (20-30 mins treadmill at average pace) add roughly 400 more. I spend 60-75 mins training and some days another 20 on stairmaster or treadmill.
 
A couple of years ago I religiously wore a heart rate monitor that tracked calories burned as well. At 215 lbs I would do 30 minutes of moderate cardio and an hour of lifting with 45-60 seconds of rest between sets and it consistently came out to around 800 calories per workout.

Thats how i added it did 45-50 minutes low-moderate cardio in the morning and calculated 500 cals
And 90 minute workout i added 300 calories to my estimate .
So im about right maybe a little under estimating what i burnt .
