HST vs HIT etc.

First 2 weeks are finished. Not to bad actually , one thing I've noticed is it doesn't bother my shoulders and back like I thought it might. anyway so far so good.
Hey Bryan H. if you miss judge your MR on your last workout of your 2 week period sould you do the extra reps or stop? Luckily I got them pretty close....11

I was always right on with my rep maxes or at least w/in a rep or so. You can still slow the rep speed down even more if you have to in order to make the 15 hard. I am anxious to do the next HST adding sets for my final two weeks. Nver done that b4 edit: I hate those 15's but they really r joint friendly

The ones were I thought I might go over 15 I started really slowing down at 10 reps and that did the trick.......11

PS I see you lapped me.

Im not Bryan, but I usually stop at the desired rep target. I am normally within a rep or two of my RM anyway, so its not usually a big difference. When getting to the 5RM sometimes I can push a few more but I dont worry about it at all. The frequent loading is the main thing.

yep, u r now merely a pace car lol

Thanks BS

Pace car, LoL

Just finished my first week of the 10 rep block. so far so good. I like the fact that this seems to be joint friendly. But it's hard not to be tempted to do more weight.........11

Be patient, young grashopper.

Definitely joint friendly. As much as the 15s suck, they'll feel pretty good after the 5s.

Just finished my last work out of my 10 rep block. I think I estimated my MR pretty good this block, almost every exercise even though I was working hard I felt I could do 1 or 2 more reps so I worked hard but didn't get to failure and thats the goal if I'm right. anyway I start 5 reps Monday, that should be fun. One thing I do like about this so far is I feel pumped between workouts and I mentioned before its very joint friendly. I wanted to start cadio soon but thought I'd wait till the week off after my 5 rep block or does that matter......11

See, no question. ;)

How much cardio do you plan on doing? Adding in 20-30 mins 2-3x/wk during your 5s wouldnt be a big deal.

Adding in the light cardio wont hurt a bit. Glad you are enjoying it. I find myself really excited about each upcoming w/o when doing HST except for the 15's
