Hysterectomy and libido

My wife had a hysterectomy 7 months ago. For many years prior she didn't have much of a libido and now it's non-existent after the hysterectomy. To top it off, she gets almost 0 pleasure from intercourse now. She's always had orgasms from vaginal stimulation, not clitoral, which was awesome because she was multi-orgasmic from penetration. Once she got started, the more she orgasms she had from harder and faster strokes. Now that everything has been removed (all but ovaries) she doesn't get much of any pleasure from intercourse. Since she never had clitoral orgasms before, spending time there isn't much help either. So basically we're in a vicious cycle of no libido and when we do have sex (pity sex) she gets nothing out of it so negative feedback which doesn't help with the libido.

Often times, when the uterus is removed, the ovaries stop working properly.


You can test her estradiol and testosterone. Estradiol is the most important hormone for libido in women, you can replace it and reverse these side effects. Testosterone can also help. Avoid pellets and creams for HRT, injections are ideal for E and T.

I think he's saying the horse piss estrogen AKA Premarin can help with the symptoms of menopause (hysterectomy causes surgical menopause when ovaries removed and sometimes even when ovaries are spared).

Restore her estradiol back to youthful levels and the libido/vaginal lubrication will return. Leave them low, and vagina will dry up, skin will start to wrinkle and age prematurely, bone less, etc. Bad stuff.
